Re: More on coconut oil...

There is a long thread on here on the uses & peoples experiences with coconut oil
I am a convert & love it as a moisturiser & for cooking its great with stir fry. When I want to perk up my teeth or have a sore place in my mouth from scraping something, usually French bread!, I oil pull which is swishing around the mouth & sucking it between my teeth & lo & behold I have whiter shiny teeth & my mouth heals up. It has also done wonders for my husbands bald dry & seborrheic wart ridden scalp in that they have not returned & it is now smooth & moisturised. He was not convinced until he tried it & now applies a little coconut oil every night

I saw the programme and the conclusion from the TV doctors was that the 'pulling' was no more effective than mouth wash....however I think that the oil is great as a moisturiser/anti fungal 'cream', I swear by it and their test wasn't all that scientific anyway.

I tried the pulling a couple of times. There was a noticeable whitening effect, but I read you should spit it in a trash can so it won't clog your pipes, kind of nasty.
I have had great luck with it keeping itching on my feet at bay, so I love it for that too. & it does make INCREDIBLE popcorn & sauteed veggies.
