Did anyone see a programme (think it was called Health Freaks or similar and may be an Embarrassing Bodies spin-off) - I saw a trailer and someone was going to be on it who did pulling I think......

Do I want to know what pulling is?

It is swishing coconut oil between your teeth for like 10 minutes. Can't bring myself to try it.

I did however, finally whip some coconut oil in my mixer to make the coconut butter for using on my body. It is lovely and so much easier to rub on. I use it all over after bathing each morning and also slather on my face at bedtime. It stays soft even in these cold temperatures.

 Hey @Caroline75 Funnily enough that's where I got mine from Tesco next to cooking oils and is cheaper than Holland & Barrett.

can you use the same oil for cooking AND applying to you skin or are there different types?

Same oil though I keep two jars, one for cooking and one skin and hair, sort of one inside one outside!

I was horrified when I read how "health" vegetable oils are processed...lots of chemicals (including petroleum-based ones) added in and then refined out...Dr. Jason Fung has an excellent series of video lectures on YouTube called "Aetiology of Obesity" and discusses how processed foods (wheat and vegetable oils) are contributing to the obesity epidemic.
