My Shelfie ...
31 Dec 2013, 16:10
I saw this idea the other day on another forum - it's a variation on the 'selfie' but you do it with books you love / have read and loved / are reading / want to read

As usual, too many to fit into one photo, so it's gone to a second

Anyone else care to share their Shelfies???

Same here! Now on Kindle. I even tried to take a photo of the bookshelf on my ipad where I have a few books but it wouldn't work! Sorry

I gave away or sold all my fiction book as there was too many of them. At the moment I have 960 books on my Kindle, its much easier to carry.

I live on a building site but my husband has planned nooks for books in all the rooms, just waiting for no.1 son to do the carpentry stuff. Until then the books are all piled in tottering heaps in my bedroom. Lots of OU reference books as I finished my degree last year but can't bear to part with the books. I have just bought 4 low carb books to read and I've got 3 Christmas books on the go too. :)

Right, I am going to stick my neck out now with my shelfie. It's a photo of page three of my kindle app on the iPad. I always think you can judge a person by their bookshelf, so please don't judge me too harshly! I also have real bookshelves but have offloaded a lot of old books and tried new ones since I have had the kindle and the app. I also have OU books that I would never part with @loulou51

If I where to post pics of my shelves, they would take up solo much space here. Apart from umpteenth shelves of fiction (ranging from thrillers, vampires to English fluffy novels) I have; at least 3 shelves of cook books, 2-3 of gardening books, two on perfumery and handmade toiletries and one on quilting etc. I tend to buy a nice load from Amazon at a time (free shipping even to Sweden) so I have a election to choose from. Right now I have both Steven Kings and John le Carres new ones in the to reed pile. Interesting to see how they will hold up :)

Hi @wolfie - same here  - but the idea is you just post a pic of a few you've chosen - either just because you love them, or they are on your pile to read, or you are reading them at the mo ( or a mixture of all these  ). Say pick about 10 (or enough to fill a photo frame - or two   ). Would love to see what someone in Sweden is reading - Scandi crime is very popular over here, for instance  :like:

PS - Loving the idea of the 'English fluffy novels' -

This is my collection of Encyclopedia Brittanica that is now stored in vacuum pack bags in my Attic for the day when there will space for them. Or for the kids to inherit. A fair bit of it is Medical knowledge (I'm saving that for the Zombie Apocalypse.)

Great @Wolfie - it's worked! :victory: :like:

I read 'Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil' a few years ago - a very interesting book (and film) :like:
