New Years Resolutions!
17 Dec 2014, 11:56
Most years, my resolutions include loosing weight or a set amount of weight and of course I usually fail! This year I plan to focus not on loosing but on sticking to it. That is to say, I plan to firstly, stick to my chosen fasting regime and not give up no matter what the scales say, and secondly, stick to my 10,000 step a day goal! I've managed consistently for the past 30 days to do so, and I'm focussed on keeping it above that. (It was important for me to have that daily goal instead of a weekly one so I don't slack off!)

Do you have any resolutions for the coming year? Please share if you do! :)

Yes, I will give myself a kick up the bum in the new year to eat healthier on non fast days but my new years resolution a couple of years ago was to learn how to hula hoop and I did it. Last year it was to learn how to juggle. I bought three juggling balls and read the instruction book and that's as far as it got so this year I WILL teach myself to juggle and now I've put it in writing I will have to do it!

That really is an awesome resolution to have... May you have success this year ;)

I remember being able to hula hoop when I was young, then I tried it as an adult and just couldn't do it.... Ridiculous!

I have already resolved not to make any resolutions.

Try to find a weighted hula hoop. It's *much* easier!

However, this year i' ve been so unfocused as regards IF, i started my NY on 1 st Dec...just so on 1 st Jan i wdnt feel quite so pogged and unhealthy! Not doing too bad so far. :like:

@CandiceMarie, every New Year my resolution was to go on a diet. It took me a long time to realise that it just didn't work so I changed it to do something fun that would also challenge me a bit. I'm so glad to hear that things are going well for you, it gives me hope.

I don't make resolutions either, but I have always done some kind of January Repentance Diet to make up for the weight that comes on over the holidays.

This year all I have to do is to keep on fasting, as I have been doing since last February. And lay off the sugary candies since I have been eating too much sugar over the past month.

Outside of that, I'm all set, since I weigh 12-14 lbs less than I did this time last year. Not having to do any kind of serious dieting this year while enjoying so much of the food I've been eating is a very nice payoff for all the fasting.

I don't really do resolutions either but if I think of anything worthy between now and 31st Dec I'll let you know!

Your resolutions are excellent, @panda_po, I may join you. 10,000 steps every day would be really good for me, as in any given week I have days where I far exceed 10,000 and days where I scarcely stir. You are off to a good start having already done 30 days. :like:

Thanks @Barbarita! I figured if I could do it for a month straight, I can do it for a year! A friend of mine once gave up chocolate for a year (all types, hot chocolate, chocolate ice cream etc)... I want to be challenged, not suicidal ;)

I can think of plenty of resolutions, I would like to change my whole life around but I'm not sure how far I would get.

I can but try!

I can't imagine how I'd do 10000 every day. How do you manage so many @Panda_Po?

Well I started off small... Trying a few thousand extra a day... Then got it up to ten thousand! I did 17,000 yesterday. Started off with the Nepean River walk which is 10,000 by itself... Then I went shopping in the afternoon lol

I love New Year Resolutions and I like to make a lot of them! This year I resolve:

Not to buy any new recipe books for a year - except perhaps the Fermentation book that I've had my eye on.
To throw away one item every day in 2015.
I read a few blogs of people who did things like this. One person resolved not to buy any clothes - not even from op shops, and not even underwear for a year. She had to mend and recycle her own clothes. I thought about that, but decided I didn't want to do that as I will have my mother's inheritance coming in and I want to spend money on items which I can't otherwise afford and if I go to Italy, I'll want to buy shoes! But recipe books! I have far too many! I don't use half of them. I will fully explore the ones I have. At the end of the year I might have a big chuck of recipe books I haven't used, or I have found unsatisfactory.

The other blog I read was from someone who decluttered an object every day, ending up with 365 less objects in her house. This really appeals to me. I'm going to do it. Already, just thinking about it, I feel challenged!
