Hi GMH thanks for asking. Fires where on the other side of the highway from us so we are all ok. Had some friends in danger for a while but they are ok now. Been a horrible day today, not sure how many homes have been lost but it looked like a lot on the news.
It's 7.30pm and we can still hear sirens going up and down the mountains.
I hope Julianna's children have got home ok.

Good news. Looks like 100s lost and really scary when u see a look of shock on the reporters faces! Glad all is well and hopefully all others in the area OK too
Are there any other forum members out there involved in the NSW fires? Thinking of you out there. Xxxxxxx

No mention of the fires here but thinking of you and hope you are all safe.
Hi all, kids are all home safe and sound, hugged and ready to have a day off tomorrow. Its not over yet. We can see fire in the valley at the oval at the end of road. The men of the house will stay home tomorrow to further prepare just in case. I hope the sweet little 4 year olds at preschool distract me enough to get this knot out of stomach tomorrow. Its official - fast broken- I'm having a big ol glass of wine-and its OK. Sorry wineoclock- to answer your question on the today's fasting thread-holiday in phuket was very relaxing and beautiful and unbelievably I lost a kilo-without trying. I think this WOE really works for me a I only need 2 meals a day ,I still drank quite a bit most nights but at least 2 days I didn't eat till dinner because I listened to my body and I just wasn't hungry. So-very wonderful holiday but great to be home especially in time for fires as I don't think anxious daughter and grandma would have copes very well. Xxx
I'm in Sydney and the conditions were shocking here so can't even imagine what you are going through being so close. Hope the weather calms down for you ASAP
Best wished to you, wineo'clock and to all of you going through such dangerous times.
Wondering how you all are this morning? Any members in the Hunter? Julianna, Wineo, and others in the Blue Mountains, thinking of you.
Hope everyone is OK. The weather is so weird. I was watching the fires on the telly while outside in Melbourne it was freezing and hailing! Climate change anyone?
This has just been on the UK breakfast news. It looks really bad. Thinking of all and hoping you are not affected.
I'm glad everyone is okay. We probably won't know exactly how many homes have been lost or if there have been any fatalities for a few days. Fingers crossed.
