Returning and an up date
12 Oct 2013, 09:16
Hello everyone I've been absent for a month or so. What a time.

My daughter Jen ended up with a ruptured bowel from the cancer causing a blockage and emergency op for peritonitis from which she was lucky to recover. This all happened on Sept 16th. She recovered well considering the scale of the op, lower bowel completely removed.

After time in the high dependency unit she ended up in palliative care ward, where the nursing has been really good. She is as weak as a kitten and thin as a lat,no none of us ever wants to be thin like this.

The current progress is that she came home (to us) for an afternoon last week and is now doing home visits to her own home with her partner.

We dare not look at the future but she is still with us thank the Lord. Meanwhile I am picking up 5:2 again so will be about the forum once more. Also my son gets married on 30th of this month so looking forward to that and hoping that Jen can make it for some of the time at least.

Hi Gill,

So lovely to see your happy face again. Great news that your daughter has come through a really difficult time, you must all be so relieved even though she is weak and still a little bit poorly. It must be so hard for you to stay positive through all this, just too stressful but you have a lovely occasion coming up so I hope your whole family enjoy the wedding.

Do keep us posted and I send you all a hug and much love,   I know you are in a lot of folks thoughts here so, good luck,

Ballerina x

Big hugs from me too. I'd just caution you not to add to your stress by doing 5:2 if you find it stressful, but if you find it helpful, then go for it.

I hope your daughter continues to improve and is strong enough to attend your son's big day. :clover:
