Here in good ol' Blighty, we're obviously very dim! Dear Aunty Beeb deems we don't understand 'English' any more, so they employ a liberal use of tautology, to make sure we all get the point.
Some recent (and much used) examples include:
Falling down, (will gravity allow you to fall up?)
Hidden out of sight (work that one out!)
Reversing backwards (funny, I always thought you could reverse forwards too! No? oh!)
Razed to the ground (as opposed to raised... doh!)
And we no longer seem to have 'mornings', but 'start to the day'
