Wow, @Silverdarling, they are amazing. How I wish I could do that. Some years ago now I bought myself Faber Castell Polychromos but as usual I haven't got round to doing anything with them. The closest I've come to anything like that is silk ribbon embroidery.

Get them out @wildmissus and have a doodle - have a look at what David Hockney has done years ago - his drawings are quite whimsical, and not at all grand, but he is very talented and was the first big artist to use coloured pencils.

There is also an artist working mostly as a children's book illustrator called Lynne Chapman who uses coloured pencils to sketch with. Met her when I took her round a few schools for Northern Children's Book Festival a few years ago. She is a very talented artist in her own right - have a look at her website http://www.lynnechapman.co.uk and especially her blog - she does the most amazing quick sketches of fellow passengers on train journeys (they are never aare she's done them) she also has a face book page, and is the organiser behind Sketchcrawl North. Most of these take place in Sheffield, South Yorkshire and the Peak District - if it was nearer I would be there regularly like a shot.

I will upload some pictures of the fun I have had with stickers tomorrow morning as we have limited broadband and as soon as one person tries to upload anything it kicks everyone off their various games. If I do it first thing in the morning when no one else is up it will be much quicker.

It may seem rather tacky to use stickers, but if you get the right ones they can be a cheap way to upgrade a room. I did go a bit overboard in my lounge but I always get 'WOW's when people visit.

I may try and gloss, as in high gloss, my wardrobes in red, a raspberry red, to match my one painted wall in there. Now raspberry with gold trim will go well.

@piper If you go onto google and put in 'How much fabric to cover a sofa?' It comes up with loads of very interesting sites. It looks like my sofa should take anywhere between 10 and 13 yards of fabric which quite shocked me as I didn't think I'd used that much but, when I did a rough calculation I came up with approximately 12 yards so the sites seems quite accurate and my memory is obviously rubbish, hope this helps
