That was wonderful to see!! It was the same with @judio (I wonder where she is?), it felt as though we already knew eachother.
I must organise a meet in Melb as I will be there in March and April, as I am extremely jealous! How about it ladies?!

@Debs - Judio was back on the fasting thread yesterday after being off piste for a few weeks. There must be enough of forumites in Melbourne and Taz for a meetup surely?

You look all lovely. How lucky you are to meet like that

@PennyForthem Dare I say the French plate had nothing French about it. It's quite shocking, actually, a bit like if somebody here served an English plate with boiled meat and mint sauce, which is the idea we have of English cooking (even if I explained over and over again how that thought is just rubbish and that a lot of my cooking inspiration comes from British cooking). They should be ashamed of themselves to have serve you that

And what are the black bits in the "baguette" ?

Looks like you had a fab day ladies, lovely pic :clover:

Manderley, it was supposed to be 'a taste of France' and I know the French would never put together a plate like this! The 'black' bits were sprinkles of parsley (and not fresh either, I think, but dried parsley!!)

Good morning world,

Finally got some sleep after three nights without any so I am now fully functioning and back on the planet.

The meet up was great and it is also great not having to do this on an iPhone, such luxury!

On the Sunday night before we went to Manchester neither of us slept as we are not used to getting up by the clock any more so, that was night 1, night 2 was even worse ( if possible ) as we were catching a train to Liverpool so again, no sleep. I thought night 3 would be a doddle but for various reasons, nope. So, by the time I got home yesterday I was like the walking dead. I did have a sneak at the forum but was just too tired to post, how sad is that?

I didn't want a cake, even a free one and Callyanna had an extra voucher which she gave to me to get just my coffee. That was easier said than done, a lovely lass insisted I have my free cake but I told her I would have to take it home and it would be a mess in my handbag but she insisted I pick one out, she would put it in a bag for me and bring it to my table. Liverpool hospitality at its best, how can a girl say 'NO' to that sort of lovely onslaught? Hope Callyanna enjoyed her 'extra' cake.

After much laughter and exchange of tales we all set off in our different directions. Hubs appeared out nowhere after I'd said my goodbyes outside JL, that man would make a great stalker, I couldn't see him but I knew he would be there, sure enough, out of the throng he popped. I knew as soon as I looked at him he was not well so that is why we went into the Beehive pub, more for a sit down than a drink although amazingly, we did have a drink. As mentioned earlier we then set off to the Albert Docks and almost got blown out to sea. Then it was rather long route march to the Anglican cathedral where he seemed to get worse again so I left him sitting down whilst I explored the church! very beautiful. We had planned to then go on to the catholic cathedral but he did not feel up to it so that's when we just went to the Adelphii for a rest.

By now I was exhausted and hubs was exhausted and not looking too good! I could tell his BP must have been on the ceiling so we ŵere a bit dismayed to find our train was running 45 minutes late due to a suicide on the tracks. What an awful thing to do, poor soul but by now I was tempted to do something similar if only so I could get a sit down. In the event, by the time we got back to Stalybridge we were only 5 minutes late and hubs had arranged to meet the worlds most talkative man and his wife for a drink before we went back to mil's. Not sure what time we got back but my battery was flat and so was the one in my iPhone, my ears were hurting from the non stop assault from the worlds most talkative man and I was sure that sleep would overtake me but, I was WRONG! Heart burn from the fabulous meal we had, headache, from the wine, backache from so much walking a sore stomach from the sudden overload of carbs all conspired to ensure I got no sleep.

Thankfully, it is all behind me but it was all worth it to meet a great bunch if ladies who all looked wonderful, bright eyes and shiny hair and were all enthusiastic, just a shame I could not have had more time with this truly inspiring bunch? Thank you, ladies and yes, Penny, another nag about your avatar, GET A NEW ONE!

Hi Ballerina! Sorry to hear of your sleep probs and hope that now you are back in your normal routine you will feel better. Hope hubs is ok too, must have been a scary train journey back to Manchester for you.
I gave the muffin that was forced on you to hubs but as we all said about the other cakes it was as dry as a bone. JL definitely need to up their game!
By the way folks, Ballerina certainly lives up to her name, she is as slim and dainty as a reed and I could just picture her pirouetting across the stage. Oh, and we were all VERY envious of her gorgeous hair! x
