Hi Shazzam,

I use myfitnesspal as my diet diary I find it very useful. I cook everything from scratch so I use the recipe section which is great. I even put in my baking as well lol.
I've been on the site and mentioned 5:2 and got 1 response. I think a lot of them in the chat are American. Still its up to you if you want to chat to em or not.
I also use runkeeper. I walk my dog’s everyday twice a day and use this to see how far and how slow I'm going. Its help me realise how different I am since using it.

I recommend this site too!! :D

Since my weight stayed the same for 2 weeks I have been monitoring my calories on non fast days just to see where I'm at.
I have done ww online in the past, and found their lists much more comprehensive, and the site easier to use, but hey MFP is free so it'll do.
I've found they quite often give different calorie counts for the same thing. When that happens I kind of pick the one in the middle.

Hi I was directed to myfitnesspal by a friend who is always dieting. I did have a look at the site but the thought of weighing every bit of food I want to consume (for my calorie intake) fills me with dread.

I may use the fitness bit though to see how many cals I may have burned with my cycling, dancing, cross training, weight training etc.

OOPs! Just did my TDEE and know I have been eating more on non fast days than I should be. (Thanks to my friend who told me about myfitnesspal). She input all the foods I had eaten last 2 weeks (I keep a food diary) and I've eaten 100- 300 more cals than my recommended intake nearly every non fast day! Now I know why the weight won't shift. But how have I lost cms from my hips + waist? :?

going to input what I have eaten today on myfitnesspal and see how many calories I've consumed (boring) AND how many I've burnt by cycling, doing exercises with2 kg weights and dancing.

Middle for diddle, always the best plan !!. prehaps we should go in mob handed and convert our American cousins to the 5:2 approach. 8-)

I love myfitnesspal and runkeeper.

Bala - you don't have to weigh everything - they have a huge calorie database and usually have shop name too eg Aldi cream cheese! I usually just roughly work out how much weight it is (except for fast days as I want to make sure I get each and every one of those 500 calories.)

Runkeeper is brill and can track cyling and loads of other stuff on there - free app. Unfortunately a jar of peanut butter fell out of my cupboard and smashed my nice phone recently so I'm using one from the dark ages. It dont do apps :-)

Well the first thread I read people were having a go at each-other because some were calorie counting on their non fast days, it was rather messy

I love Myfitnesspal and get great use out of the barcode scanner which allows you to count the exact foods you are eating. I also cook a lot and save my recipes on it. I haven't been down the friends route on there. I have enough on Facebook, Twitter and here! Would thoroughly recommend it to anyone.
