Anyone use a breadmaker?
05 Mar 2013, 19:42
I ordered a breadmaker and it arrived yesterday........and it was fast day. I read the instructions and set it up so we would have freshly baked bread ready for 7am this morning. Warm freshly baked bread, real butter and apricot jam for breakfast for four people this morning, it was heaven and the smell in the house, wow.

Anyone got any tips/recipes.

Oh yes! I have had a bread maker for about 15 years and use it nearly daily. I buy flour in bulk and usually do half white half brown. I really like the Dove's Farm Multigrain flour which has flour improver in it so you get a really good rise. I often make pita bread which tastes so much better than the shop bought stuff and also my own pizza bases. It makes good brioche too.

As you have found out, the timer feature is really good. The only downside is that a family can demolish a fresh baked loaf in just a few minutes!

Yeah, my husband, he's great at bread. No machine though unless you count the dough hook on the Kenwood.

Have also had one for years and it is used all the time. I love waking up to the smell of fresh bread. Fruit bread is great done in the machine. You can also mix the dough for making rolls and baguettes. Never tried jam in it though as like using my maslin pan!
