Well small world eh Glynisb? Do you have any other markets to recommend in our area?

Belindab - I was a bit out of my area on Sunday, visiting my brother, but our nearest village of Villereal has a good market on a Saturday and Monflanquin is a pretty place and has its market on Thursday. Both better out of season!
I'm in South West France as well but in the Gers. Snow has gone today but shouldn't we be out in our t-shirts by now?
I live near Nice, very jealous that you are finding people who live near you! Incidently it snowed here too yesterday afternoon, a veritable blizzard for about half an hour. We are a bit in the hills behind Nice but still surprising for mid-March, we are normally starting to think about getting lighter clothes out by now. Obviously not this year though!
Great to hear that there are folks doing the 5:2 in France. I am partly living between Cannes & the UK so lovely to know that there are supportive friends here. I am a newbie here and looking forward to starting this diet on Monday. Spent this evening reading all your posts & comments....very motivating and looking forward. Please feel free to connect here and will update after Monday.
Wishing you all a good weekend:0
Hi there TSK. Hope the fast goes well on Monday, I'll be fasting too on Monday. if ever you would like to meet up when you are in Cannes, I'd be happy to. good luck tomorrow.
Hi Jayney... thank you for your support & message. Would love to meet up in Cannes and will try to 'inbox' you now. Looking forward to starting and feeling abit nervous but that is just 'weakness' on my part lol.
Oh how I wish I had an EU passport so I could live in France! It's not so easy for us yanks ;-) But I'll be visiting this summer and next summer, so I shouldn't complain too much. We actually have a good (and expensive) patisserie and a gourmet shop with a decent (although expensive) cheese cave.
@ Tracieknits....its a delight to live in France and I wonder how the French (most of them) look so slim & trim eating the variety of cheese, patisseries & of course wine is like water lol. But this is not on my mind now as I embark on the 5:2 tomorrow. Just sitting here now and working out a food plan.
Glad you visiting over the summer & I am sure your will savour all the delicious foods here. All the best.
Hi Me to I am in the Limousin dept 19...
@nagchampa - it was the AI post that got me on ere too, thought I recognised your name. Nice that AI can still help people (winks)

@bobshouse - I'm in the Orne too (near Bagnoles) wasn't the snow fab! We were snowed in too, over the top of he wellies when we went to feed the horses

@everyonelse - bonjour et bon courage!
Ooh, I know Bagnoles it is not far. I am in Ceauce. Was snowed in too and had to dig a path for the chickens and ducks. Getting used to being snowed in every year.
Ceaucé, that's REAL close, now what are the odds on that! Join a uk 5:2 forum & find you live 20 mins away from each other in France !

Not sure I want to be friends with you though, you look way too slim LOL

Looking forward to spring in Normandy :)
Hi AnnieD, I thought there would be some of us on here!
Good luck with the 5:2, Im on my 4th fast today and very proud of myself for being able to put away the remains of the lovely quiche we had last night without snaffling any!!
Sorry! I am a 10/12 slowly working back to 10. I used to be size 18 ten years ago. I gained a bit of weight when I retired and moved here. I am doing 5:2 mainly for the health benefits
Been in France for 5 days and so far so good, 5:2-wise. I've managed 2 fast days without trouble and have been under my target calories on the other days too - even with eating out one night. Not sure I'll be able to maintain such willpower tomorrow though, since we brought 24 Creme Eggs and other assorted Easter Eggs with us!
