I'm over in brittany myself and I know a lot of people have been posting on angloinfo that they are doing this diet
Hi, I'm in South-West France, on the border of Dordogne/Lot/Lot-et-Garonne. Nice and sunny, but cold today!
Hi, I'm in SW France too, in the Lot!
I'm not but I'm French lol
Not right now, but I live in Brittany for about a quarter of the year. The first big test of managing 5:2 in Brittany will come in a few weeks when I'll be there for a fortnight. I already found that the really handy bar-code scanner in the MyFitnessPal app doesn't work much on French food, so that'll be a pain...
Hi. Quite a lot us seem to be in SW France. Maybe it's the good food and wine!
I am in north Lot and Garonne, south of Villereal. Watching the racing at Cheltenham today and glad that I am here and not in the Cotswolds.
Another Bretonne here, dept 35.

Me too! I often shop at the supermarket in Villereal.
Snowed in department 61, Orne, Lower Normandy. Deep in rural farming community.
Hello to you all! It is very cold and still a dusting of snow in Brittany (north 56) but we havent got it as bad as you guys up in Normandy and Picardy

I'm hoping being in France will help the diet, being veggies we have to cook from scratch anyway so it seems to be a lot easier to make low cal stuff on the fast days (just have to avoid the cheap plonk!!) :frown:
You'll find that there are quite a lot of French products in the MFP database, even if the barcodes don't work.

As for French food - we are so lucky with the fab markets - each week I'm trying to go to a different one now, and eating the wonderful local seasonal produce.

Can't wait for asparagus season.

Yes the SW is great for foodies - and so is 5:2!!!!

You might find my blog interesting . Se link in my footer.
I live in the Champagne region, currently snowed in and very cold - not helped by fasting! Try Fatsecret app, it has a barcode function but it also lists all the food in French supermarkets.

We too were at Montaigu de Quercy market on Sunday. I bought a lovely bunch of watercress and had some delicious soup for lunch today. I also bought a jasmine plant there but luckily didn't plant it out because it was freezing with snow lying this morning!
Well small world eh Glynisb? Do you have any other markets to recommend in our area?
