My thoughts and prayers go out to all. A cousin of mine ran today, she is safe.
Senate stated it has all the hallmarks of a terrorist attack. They just don't know if it is foreign or local. So horrible. This world has changed so much since I was a kid - and it's not that we now have social media and word gets out faster - I believe evil just keeps growing.

My thoughts and prayers for everyone involved.
Oh, what a terrible, terrible thing to happen, and on a day when people were running on behalf of worthwhile charities, when others were enjoying a happy day out with their children, when the flags of so many nations were flying peacefully together in the sunshine. My heart goes out to you all.
Yes, Rufus here. Very sad day in Boston. Fasting but feel like opening the wine. Boston Marathon is a big deal here. So tragic to see this happening. I did not go to watch the marathon (too crowded) but a friend who runs every year was a mile from the finish line when it happened. Her son who was waiting for her saw everything. They are both okay. Two people confirmed dead, one was an eight year old child. Over 100 people injured, several with limbs blown off.
Rufus,

I hear you. Tempted to pop open a beer myself fast day or no. Just unbelievable. Jenm
They're now saying 3 have died. One is an eight year boy  . There are other children who are injured.

I will never understand why someone would want to do this sort of thing to innocent people, least of all children . The first responders, and others close by, rushed to help those in need rather than run the other way. That alone restores my faith in the human race.
Really sad, I don't understand how someone could do this either, I always tell my kids when bad stuff like this happens to look for the helpers, for whenever something bad happens there are also always lots of good/ brave people too, trying to make things better.
Horrific befouling of something really beautiful and uplifting.
Good to hear you and your friends are safe Rufus. Thanks for posting. My heart goes out to all you Bostonians and your visitors x
Thinking of all and sending prayers to those who need them. My cousin lives in upstate NY and was going to run, but decided two days ago that he wouldn't - he still doesn't know why he changed his mind.
My thoughts are with all concerned x
It is beyond words. Virtual hugs for all concerned. I would give real hugs if I could.
Sad and horrific. Also remembering all who are being killed and not getting the publicity because of where they are. Hugs real and virtual being sent.
A terrible thing to have happened on what for many is a charity event. My thoughts & best wishes to anyone affected by this awful bombing.
