Boy or Girl ?
16 Jul 2013, 14:29
How exciting for my British friends that the new royal baby will be born soon ! Boy or girl ? Are there bets going across the country on weight etc ? It is always wonderful to bring a new baby home. Hoping for happiness and good health  Soon, soon, very soon..... :?:

More important to me was the birth yesterday of our best friends baby girl.

Generally, I'm sure they use all sorts of 'helpful' natural ways to ensure a boy.

It's the father who determines the sex of the child. I'm betting on little Kate.

I think they are having a little boy. Either way, I am way too excited about it.

I think there is actually less excitement here than there is abroad. Most people are pleased for them, and want things to go well, but to be honest, there are lots of other distractions (like the weather!)
Most of us ordinary souls who remember the huge fuss around William's birth 30odd years ago, and the amount of emotion that was projected onto them, and the resultant effects, want less of that this time, for their own sakes as much as anything else. After all, it is the next monarch about to be born ... hopefully things will have moved on, and they will at least be able to have some kind of normal life and privacy, which they will need and deserve, if they're going to do a good job as a future monarch. So let the welcome be muted and modest, rather than overwhelming I say.

Aussies are obsessed it's on TV all the time, whereas in the UK papers and news its all about the weather, although the Aussies are having a right giggle over the 30c 'heatwave' my mates all take the mickey - btw I think a boy

Your right silverdarling. Here's hoping they can have a private life. I guess I am most interested only because they both seem to be genuinely nice people.

At least the pressure is of for them to produce a boy, now that the law has been changed to allow a boy or girl to become monarch. I was rather hoping for a girl, just to see the new law in action!
