So, who has snow at the moment?

Here in the midlands we woke up to a bit of snow yesterday and then it turned wet and windy and it all melted. Today is bright clear and COLD! I'm not fasting today so am about to go and make some coffee and have a piece of Christmas cake to go with it ;)

We're getting a bit of snow tomorrow - maybe 1-3 inches. It's kind of sad, we've only gotten about 8 inches total so far. I live about 3.5 hours south of Montreal, and it used to be that we'd have two feet of snow on the ground (at least!) all January long. It's been years since I've seen three feet drop at once. It also used to be rare for the temperatures to go above freezing in January - at all. Now we're having days and days of temps above freezing. Feels positively balmy!

Our snow fell Sunday night and continued until 12 noon Monday. We have a decent sized (5 foot?) snowman in the back garden still, although the snow has started to melt. It didn't cause traffic chaos this time and the schools stayed open. We do live on "high ground" as the forecasters call it

Is it harder to fast when it's so cold, I wonder? Psychologically I guess it's a struggle - we think we need lots of food to keep us warm but hey, we've got central heating and thermal underwear, unlike our poor ancestors who thought a fleece was something a sheep wore. :)

The snow is back, not really laying though which is good as we have been snowed in twice this year already! Chickens are not impressed they keep gong back into Cluckingham palace hoping it will change!

We have a cyclone heading our way. It's 40c, windy and we're battening down the hatches! Never been through a cyclone before so it will be interesting!
We do get the odd snowfall where we are in Tasmania so I get the extremes working in the nw of Western Australia!!

When you remember folks have to deal with cyclones etc our weather here in the UK should'nt really be moaned about. But....I'm British and have been brought up to talk about the weather to anyone I meet :)
Today is cold and damp in the South East.

Still cold and damp in the South East of the UK, this evening will definately see a warm front (and back under me duvet) any night-time frost will be blissed away by a lovely crumpet with butter :)

Hope you are ok Debs
Dull and cold but no snow or rain so far. A lot of the rivers are back within their banks but fields are still flooded. The tractors are starting to come out but mainly muck spreading at present. Ploughing will need to start soon to get the maize in but the ground needs to dry first. Would love to get going on veggie patch. Some sun would be lovely.

Tropical Cyclone Rusty is bearing down on us here in WA!! I think the Australians are just as obsessive about the weather and moan about it just as much!! I'm a Pom over here and enjoy a bit of weather myself!
We are expecting up to 600ml of rain in the next couple of days plus gale force winds so that will be interesting. Having had summer days of constant 40ish I am enjoying the cool, grey day. Never though I'd hear myself say that!
