The instructions for the sweater boots. All you need is an old sweater, a pair of cheap flat shoes a glue gun and some ability and use of a sewing machine.

There may be something useful in here too.

I love these ideas! I'm completely ham-fisted when it comes to arts and crafts but even I can wield a pair of scissors. Watch out, T-shirts, here I come!
Turning an adults sweater into a dress for a girl. Or maybe a tighter fit sweater dress for a slimmer you.

Awesome sweater boots. I have just the sweater and shoes to try this on!! Pinterest is a great place to search for upcycling ideas. I have made a shrug and a scarf from tshirts that got too big. I have a tshirt pillow pinned that I'm going to try with some of my holiday/seasonal shirts that don't fit anymore.
Wow Julie your so talented :)
I don't mind starving for a new wardrobe...
I wouldn't say I'm talented TracE. Just broke and handy. Most of the stuff I pin doesn't need a degree in needlework, just an ability to sew a straight line or use a glue gun.

In the past I have made pocketed wall hangings from jeans for the kids bedrooms. I used a broom handle as the support, with rope to hang it from, so a straight fold over of the backing cloth at the top stitched so the pole could slide through. Then I cut the pockets off a couple of pairs of jeans and stitched them on to the backing cloth. Then I cut the rest of the jeans up to make larger pockets. It was great for my daughters room as it had tiny pockets for hair bobbles and 'pretties' and bigger pockets for barbie dolls, pencils and teddy bears.
But all it required was straight stitching to make it workable. You could probably do it with hand stitching, with wool and BIG stitches.

Edit for spelling mistakes.
Big baggy hooded sweatshirt and a little sewing magic into a smalller more fashionable wrapped, big buttoned hoodie.
