None of the items below will be on the Forthem's shopping list for Christmas this year.
This is partly due to both of us being in maintenance, but also to do with the fact that we won't be spending Christmas amongst the family, due to the fact that dear DiL's sister's baby is due on Christmas day. In a way, we're looking forward to just being on our own.

So, off the shopping list go:

Mince pies
Cake (of any kind)
Chocolates (of all varieties)
Christmas puds
Starters (or anything to make them from)
Smoked salmon
Cream
Brandy butter
Rum sauce

Oh, don't get me wrong, we still intend to have a great Christmas (and see family too, birth permitting!) and we'll be having goose with all the trimmings - just less of them!

Anything you're not buying this year?
Nasty supermarket 'party fayre'.
Spuds
Stuffing
Xmas pud.
Tins of sweets
Baileys
I have already bought the Christmas cake & Christmas pud and been given a big tin of sweets, Mince pies etc will follow in due course.
OK I'm having family to stay, but I intend to indulge in moderation as well.
 Nothing's off my list
I shall enjoy all but in moderation, mostly because I actually made my Christmas cake a couple of weeks ago on autopilot just the job for November as norm so callyanna suggested storing so that's what I'm doing with half of it, I know its still temptation but at least a smaller one
so no one says no to a slice when they visit or else !!
Penny I hope that this time next year I will be as strong as you, saying no to all  its the OH he's developed a big sweet tooth since retirement, I'll have to work on him in the new year because I'm buying so much crap for him and the temptation is always there :clover: :clover: Sue. :clover: :clover:
I'd have to keep the smoked salmon. But yes my shopping list will be greatly decreased as I'm not hosting this year. So a little less of everything I think.
I love Christmas, so we'll have in all the usual stuff. Last year I managed to come out the other side half a pound lighter despite it all (I did fast over the festive period, although on nearer 700 cals, which included a couple of chocolates!). That said, I didn't fancy as much rich food as I would have in the past and I'll be living on leftover roasties & veg as bubble & squeak for my dinners for half the hols as usual ;)

I gather it's 'normal' for people to gain around half a stone over Christmas! I certainly shan't let myself go to that degree, but won't be disappointed if I gain a pound or two temporarily. I've got the tools to shift it again after anyway, and Christmas is only once a year :)
I am only hosting one family member and we intend to cut down on goodies, but I will get 6 mince pies (hubby says it's not Christmas without them!)and I have already bought a box of liqueurs. We'll also be having all the trimmings, but no Christmas pud. I intend to splash out on some really good wine and champagne. The money that we shall save on other extras that we're not getting this year we will give to a charity, plus a bit extra. We consider ourselves to be very fortunate and other 'people in need' need it more at this time of year. There is so much pressure on people at Christmas to produce something supposedly 'magical', so much hype. This year I hope to find the right balance (and hopefully the scales too!).
I know I sound like a saint when I say I'm not buying anything sweet - but I never do at Christmas for us , as neither of us actually likes Christmas cake, mince pies etc.
My indulgence will be a truckle or two of Snowdonia Cheese! (I have a jar or two of chutney to go with it too!!)
Mmmm cheese.....with red wine and or port. Yummy
We will be buying 2 boxes of mince pies every time we go shopping until the shops stop selling them - every other sweet treat is relegated during this time!

Won't be going overboard on goodies but must have Baileys

Oh and stuffing - seasoning, if you're politically correct. Personally, don't think its Christmas without a few 'Do you like stuffing, madam?' double entendres

Ooh, getting excited now!!! :reindeer:
I thought smoked salmon was good for you?! I like mine with a little lemon juice and black pepper!
I am definitely not getting any of those buffet type items like vol-au-vents or mini chinese starters, you know the type I mean!
Me and the other half are having a very frugal christmas due to a new kitchen arriving in December and funds running low so presents are pretty low on the list too!!
I like the idea of spending more money on good quality booze though - less likely to give you a hangover surely?!
I am very interested to see how much I will be able to eat - my portion size is massively decreased.
I've already decided I'm going to indulge myself a bit this year, as I've lost so much weight and I'm confident that I'll be able to shift anything I put on, thanks to this WOE. I do intend to have some fast days over the Christmas period, though, just to help things along.
Have already bought the Baileys and the Christmas pudding. Sister in law always buys me my favourite chocolates (Ferrero Rocher). Will probably buy some mince pies to have soon, to spread out the indulgences!
I intend to enjoy myself this year too but I think I'll fast on the Monday and Friday of Christmas week. I'm going to try to limit myself to 16/8 too.
Errrm! nothing will be restricted here. In fact I am planning on eating some things I have barred in the past due to it not being good for my weight.

But I won't be buying tins of chocolates or boxes of chocolates because we never do anyway as there are only 4 or maybe 5 of us at home, the tins would last forever.

I have 5 or 6 Christmas puds in the cupboard from last year, well matured by now. The Christmas cake is bought, the mince pies will be a last minute buy as they wouldn't last till Christmas if bought too soon. Baileys is already bought and half drunk, another one will be needed. There won't be much in the way of processed snack foods, we would rather have crudities and dips as snacks than crisps etc.

But as said a time for a bit (not a lot) of indulgence. That plus my wedding anniversary as well means a few pounds will go on. I'm no longer worried about it.
No restrictions here either. My concession is that I will up from my usual 2 x 16:8 to a couple of full fasting days for a fortnight before Christmas in the hope of losing a couple of pounds before the festive season. Then I can relax and have a little of what I fancy (in moderation) without having to play catch-up (or down!!) afterwards.... I usually find myself completely over-faced with food over Christmas and in the past have always dropped weight anyway...
