Minsmum, I've just had to go out to buy more Christmas cards as I can't find the lovely ones I bought in the Jan sales and carefully put away somewhere in such a safe place. If only I could remember where that safe place was ..... :curse:

I think that's a sure fire certainty!!

Hey Gilly you're right about the colour scheme matching SD's lovely M and S tree!
I have got a kinda Christmassy Fairy theme thing going..
This fairy is like a Cleaning Lady Fairy, flying round with her duster
The two previous ones were a Hello Kitty Fairy and a Grumpy Fairy
I've also got a Sprinkling Fairy Dust Fairy to go up next!
Out of all of them,Grumpy Fairy is most like me!
I love your idea of going walking in the forest to find a suitable twiggy branch! So Christmassy!xx
Here's a sort of Froggy Fun Fairy xx!
I have my branch and have overloaded it with tinsel, baubles and lights. One of these years I am going to have an elegant tree. This one looks like what it is. A scavenged branch sellotaped to the wall to hold it up.

I haven't received my stick on stars yet, they are going all over the walls in swooping swirls of stars. White and silver on the purple wall and purple and silver on the white walls. The Corny Santa stickers are in the window though. When its all done I will post some photo's. I may yet change the tinsel colour on the 'tree' as the gold really doesn't go with the lilac and silver baubles.
Christmas?
Did someone say Christmas?
When is it? Do tell.
Waitrose cider and sherry Christmas pudding.
I give you the nectar of the gods.
All things being equal I could live on this delightful stuff :0)
Hub making cider with the last of the windfalls. A glass of last year's sparkling to hand. No Christmas pud though...

Last night I ordered online a dept. store gift certificate and transposed the numbers in my street address. The website kept telling me that I was doing something wrong with the address--but I didn't believe them. Today I received a phone call from giant retailer JC Penney, no less. (Credit Card Co. knew something was amiss) So embarrassing

After that was fixed and the phone call ended, I saw that on the card I had transposed the names on To and From

Sheesh! I'd call it a senior moment except that I did things like that when I was young, too

Hope I get through the holiday season without messing up anything else--where are those cards??
Growing up my family always decorated the tree with popcorn and cranberries. One year my sisters and I decided we wanted tinsel instead. We begged and begged my parents until they let us have tinsel. So we got the tree and decorated it with tinsel. Then my sisters and I sat in front of that tree that we begged so hard for and cried and cried. I think it was a combination of hating the tinsel and disappointing my parents. We took down the tinsel and strung popcorn and cranberries and decorated the tree as it should've been in the first place.

One year or dog was on a diet and she ate all the popcorn on the lower branches of the tree.
We don't buy a living Christmas tree anymore as we have two cats who love to climb trees (Christmas tree included). We now have a plastic tree that has the optic fibre lights within the greenery.

The cats are now content with stealing the baubles off the lower branches and dribbling them up and down the hallway only to lose the bauble under a piece of furniture and then proceed to go back to the tree and remove another bauble. I can guarantee you I will be finding lost baubles under the furniture in 2014.
I've given in and begged hubby for a replacement tree. It should arrive tomorrow.
