Waist 10cm down in 10 weeks
08 Oct 2013, 07:40
I've lost a whopping 10cm (4") off my waist since I started 5:2 on 1 August. I measured my waist the day before (31 July). Yesterday I noticed how loose my jeans were. I bought this particular pair in September last year, without trying them on, for a holiday. When I got home and tried them on, I couldn't get the button to meet the button hole - it was about 1cm gap. I did a lot of walking on that holiday a year ago and on my return I could button the jeans. But no more until 5:2.

This morning I got the tape measure out and found I'd lost 3cm since 27 September (this year, not last!) so that's a whole 10cm since 31 July. It's not quite 10 weeks so I am very, very happy.

I've lost from my hips, belly and thighs too, but as the waist is the real health indicator this is a real motivator for me.

(Tried to post a pic in the other forum but it just wouldn't do it.)

Not sure about shopping yet. I posted a pic of my gappy jeans on Facebook yesterday and a friend made the same comment. I replied that I still have my old wardrobe, including some lovely vintage threads, so I'm looking forward to slipping gradually back into the things I used to love wearing.

In the meantime, the current pairs of jeans are too loose so I'm tightening the belt notches and every couple of weeks I'll be retrying some older jeans on to see how close I am to getting back into them and giving the too-big ones to the charity shop.

:-)

The vintage clothes are simply the best especially from the back of the wardrobe  Enjoy.

I'd given up late last year and ridded out Everything.
Shame because I never saw all the publicity or programme of this WOL never mind at least the clothing I ended up saving ( LOADS )
Well now they're all gone to charity
Have bought a new '' interim '' set of clothes in sales + charity shops plus have been given a few items. These will do for now then when I drop another 3 sizes these are going to charity shops also  Sue
