5 kgs before goal
20 Sep 2013, 09:40
As I was discussing about my weight loss with a friend, I realised that my goal is nearly here and it gave me a shock. Well, maybe not a "shock" but I find it a bit strange. At that rate, I will reach it before the end of the year which I never thought would be possible.

I am a fairly short woman (1.62cm and a half - very important the "and a half" when you are not a tall one) and I weighted 95kg when I began dieting. Since then, I lost 30kgs and my big goal is to go to 60kgs. Well, it was my goal anyway, the reasonable one. If I live in a fairy tale land I would love to be 50kgs but I am far from that goal and I want to focus on the reasonable one for now

I shrank around the waist (well, I have one now  ), thights, legs, back, neck, arms but it's not over yet. In fact, the hardest is yet to come. How to tone all that ?

Despite of that big question, I am delighted, to say the least and I wanted to thank all of you for your support. You are a big part of that victory

I would just like to say I think you're going to be my inspiration! I started at 96 kilos and I'm 10 down. I'm the same height as you too. I have days when I really think I'm never going to get there and who could really lose that much weight. Thanks so much for posting this. In a week where I lost only .5 lb it really helps to hear hat someone roughly the same height ans weight as I was is almost at goal. And we'll done!

Manderley that's brilliant! Don't worry about afterwards - there will be people on here in the same position who will be able to help just as they have done in the losing phase

Can I suggest the book " the new rules of lifting for women" ? It was the best 15$ I've ever spent and love what it has done to my body
<--------- tummy after giving birth to 6 kids.

Good luck and great job for losing all that weight

Manderley keep up the good work you have done so well. The last 5 might be the slowest to go so be patient and diligent. Oh I hope I wasn't being a negative Nancy saying that but I have noticed those with lower BMI's have a harder time getting it off. Start some weight training now to build a bit of muscle. Muscle burns more calories.

Well done for your weight loss, it's wonderfull. Losing 2.5kg in a week is a lot, you should be really pleased with that. To give you an idea, my average lost is 4kgs a month. I couldn't tell you the average lost for a week because I weight myself only once a month to not focus on the number.

The most important thing is how you feel. This journey can be wonderfull, you see your body change, people around you notice your weight loss and congratulate you, please take advantage of it. The fact that the weight loss is relatively slow is also a good thing, it gives you the time to get used to the "new you". Believe me, it can be tough.

I am a worrier by nature... I know it sounds crazy but I almost think that the weight I loss was helping to hide the flaws. Now they are in the open. That's why I am so obsessed with the strech marks and the cellulite. Well, one step at a time....

I know the last 5 will probably be the hardest but I am a patient woman and the goal I gave myself was my 40th birthday which is in the end of march so it gives me 6 months to lose 5 kgs....

I began to do some exercices, pilates and walking. I have to be carefull because of my knees but, even if it takes time, I truly believe that the "worse" is behind me

Today I go and see my parents for lunch for the first time in 6 weeks (they have been away all this time). I don't know if they will see the weight loss, I hope they will. If they do it can convinced my mum to try it, who knows....
