Ohh the cry of too big is always a cause for celebration. If you are still on the way down hit the charity/thrift/preloved/vintage (call them what you want) shops, some good bargains to be had and lighter on the pocket
But if you're THERE then it's time for a fab new wardrobe.
Whichever it is don't forget to take you're husband to carry the bags

Been there, too. I started 5:2 to avoid having to buy a new wardrobe the next size up (which I'd already been forced to start doing) and ended up 20 lbs. lighter and down 2 sizes. I have a whole stack of jeans at the bottom of the closet to go to charity; some of them were brand new last March when I started 5:2. Meanwhile, the clothes I'd put there because they were too small went back into circulation briefly, but are now also too big. Oh well, it's a great opportunity to update the wardrobe and that will be a great incentive to maintain the new weight.
I was doing the same today ! Decided as its getting a bit cooler to put some summer clothes away and dig out the warmer stuff which needed a wash to freshen up.
I was saying to myself, doubt any of this lot will fit next year, alot are already too big, and some stuff has only be worn once...
Was thinking perhaps the winter stuff would be too big as well. Infact that has turned out the opposite
Must have been ummm slightly tighter than I thought wearing them earlier in the year
My clothes seem to hang better, and there is a hint, yes a hint of a waist! I am an apple shape so this sight is a very rare occurrence
I don't want to buy any clothes yet whilst in transition, but had to give in and buy some trousers as mine were getting so baggy and literally just hanging, toally mishaped. One size down
I still have a job to look at the next size down in the shops though. After decades of bigger sizing, its difficult to break.
As far the bra's... well, I will be needing chicken fillets to pad them out. They are going to need a re-sizing. Only bought them about 3 months ago....
So yes, I share your delight & disappoint

I have been doing 5:2 since May and am within a pound or two of my goal weight. I have given a lot of clothes to Goodwill. I recently had a professional bra fitting. What an eye opener! I ended up throwing out every older bra I had. The new bras are the most comfortable I have every worn--I guess having the perfect size makes a difference. Without the fitting, I would have never bought the correct size. I recommend it when you are at or near your goal weight. It really made a big difference.
Hi Cherylhead,
How much weight have you lost? That is awesome! Congratulations!!
I am currently size 18 and maintaining, because I am struggling, though still trying... I have size 12 and size 14 clothes still in my closet, so WHEN I do lose the (how many sizes is that?? geez) 2-3 sizes needed, I still have old clothes to wear. Not vintage, just old. But that's fine with me.
God how I LONG for the day I can finally say 'Too Big... too big... ' Ho hum...

That must be a great feeling to have clothes that are now too big. Well done!
