Hi and welcome:

Congratulations - but I guess I have to be the wet blanket for expectations.

This will explain how much weight you can lose on any diet, and show why much of the weight you have lost is water weight: 5-2-diet-chat-f6/topic6600.html

To lose as much weight as you have lost in fat you would have to have not eaten anything since Jan 6.

I just don't want you to get upset and quit if your weight loss does not continue at the pace you have experienced, or even reverses and you find you are gaining. 5:2 works, but just not that fast.

Good Luck!

Oooohhhh! I just saw this. Welcome and well done!! Keep going. I'm averaging a pound a week ( not including the last 5 weeks on holiday I have been aiming to maintain) so get excited because it works!!!

Nice results, even if there is truth in what simcoeluv says but if you keep going you will get to your target weight soon so dont worry

Simcoeluv I do realise the weight loss was massive but i really am aware that itll slow down and i may even gain occasionally.
I ate excessively over Christmas and have been really good since I started my diet and this 5;2 plan, so I do not have unrealistic expectations!
In fact, I got on the scales today and had put back on 4 pounds but I really am not surprised as i had lots of treats at the weekend.
I am not disappointed with this gain as overall its still a loss of a pound in the last week which is realistic and therefore fine!
Cheers
guys
