Delighted But Cautious
04 Jan 2014, 09:04
Started this WOE on 30/12 & weighed myself yesterday. I have apparently lost 5.49lbs! I know its an anomaly as I think my start weight was taken when the scales were right out of the box mid-afternoon & I usually weigh in the morning.

Nevertheless it is an encouraging start & I might need to up my Valentine's Day Challenge target.

I've always said that my weight problem was no-ones fault but my own. I was the one that put the food in my mouth. I was active & a healthy weight until I got married. Mum never made us sit at the table until everything was eaten. I moved to a different part of the country ( a different country a little later) & stopped my athletics & badminton so it was all downhill from there. I find it hard not to eat everything on my plate. I only eat food I love & if I'm enjoying it, I want to eat it all. I trained at catering college, love food & love to cook. Recipe books are my bedtime reading. Since starting this WOE I have had to leave food. I need to get to grips with portion control or I'm going to waste so much food.

Take care all.

Well done! Fantastic feeling isn't it?
I would leave your Valentine Day target for a few weeks just to see if your body needs time to adjust. I had a couple of plateau weeks after some initial fast losses but it all settles down in the end!
Buy yourself a smaller plate or eat out of a bowl. I also found it difficult to realise my 6ft 2 active hubby needed more food than me - there is now 5 1/2 stone difference in our weight!!
But this diet is for those who love food, just not 2 days a week!
Well done and hope you continue your success xxx :clover:

Well done Geri :like: I also love good food but you should find that as you have completed more fasts your appetite will decrease. Staying away from sugary food & low fat stuff. & substituting fruit & natural fats like butter, olive oil & coconut oil in small quantities will help your body. I think it has been accepted by many on here that processed low fat & so called diet foods with trans fats & added preservatives & sugars confuse our bodies because they can't properly digest that man made rubbish. Unfortunately the continuing dieting mantra of eat low fat & high carbohydrate is unhelpful & confusingly still supported by health advisers.
Good luck with your next fast.

 Well done @Patchworkperson You're off to a brilliant start a loss is a loss and usually more at start so you know it will slow down but there's no better motivation for you than that, and you will find as others said that your portion sizes will reduce naturally.

Fantastic start and no, it won't always be that good, realistically. Real fresh food, no processed/refined 'food', is what your body likes, though your head will scream differently now and then! Listen to your body and enjoy finding yourself again.
All the best Geri :0)

Well done, great start. Like others I'm going to try and reduce my carbs to get rid of the pot belly. Don't get disheartened if every now and then you see the scales going up. Take a look at my progress chart! We are all in this for the long haul.
