Finally off the plateau
20 Sep 2013, 09:07
Hi everyone

After weeks of staying exactly the same weight I have finally moved off it.

My son's school decided to not continue with his education, which meant that his teaching at home stopped (medical reasons), this has left us trying to find another school to be his named school (on paper only) so that the teaching can go on again. We were told middle of August so I am sure most parents can imagine the stress caused when you don't actually have a school for your child. It's supposed to be GCSE year. We have met with several schools but so far none have accepted the responsibility. Hence my stress levels have been sky high and my IBS kicked off. I stuck with IF and at least didn't put on weight for the first time in recent years when things go bad. Last weeks second fast was a disaster and I ended but quitting for the first time. I promptly had a weight gain last week of 600g. Not the end of the world.

This week was better. I done both fasts and after several meetings with specialists it looks like one of the local schools is coming to our rescue. I'll know for sure in the next couple of weeks, but so far it's positive.

The scales this morning finally moved in the right direction as well. A small weight loss of 800g brings me below the plateau weight.Happy days.

Sorry to hear about the situation with your son, I hope it all works out for you with the local school. Remember that everything happens for a reason, even if we can't see it at the time. My husband's motto is "it'll be fine", and we try to live by this 'IBF' rule to minimise stress (doesn't always work, mind ;))

Anyway, really glad to hear you've broken the plateau - onwards & downwards!

That's awful about your son, hope it all gets sorted out. No wonder it's causing you stress.

Well done breaking the plateau. :victory:

Stress affects weight loss someone knowledgable on forum mentioned cortisol levels. Whatever though great news for you and your son must be a weight off your mind ( no pun intended)

I agree with Gillymary, stress affects weight loss. Some people are lucky, it makes them lose the weight, some, like you and me, put on the weight. I wonder why such a big difference...

Anyway, plenty of positive vibes for the school you find be the one :clover:

And congratulations for breaking the plateau
