Regarding people's concern that the weight of their hair (boobs, etc) is unduly affecting their overall weight:

A few years back I had a complete hysterectomy. I excitedly told the doc afterward that this would be good for my weight - no longer having ovaries and uterus. He laughed and replied that the entire reproductive system only weighs a couple of ounces!      (in other words, not sure whether to cry or laugh)

I lost about 20 stones when I had my gallbladder removed. It's not the "British stones" though...

Good luck with the fast today cat_s85 - hang in there and give 5:2 a chance - it's worked for so many of us here on this forum it's really worth giving it a good 2/3 months before deciding to throw in the towel. :clover:

Thanks all. I'm not doing very well so far. I was starving this morning so I've had some toast. Eek, will try my best to make up for it as the day continues. Fingers crossed!

My first few weeks were dreadful and I too felt utterly miserable. It took an age to get going and then, 6 weeks later, I had lost 10lbs. Hang on in there :clover: :clover:

I would rather shut my fingers in a door than stand on strange scales in the evening. First thing in the morning after a pee before a drink butt naked, other wise stay away from them they are cruel. by the way I weighed the same the day after I had my twins as I did the day before I had them that was 39 years ago and I am still in shock.

Thanks guys. Feeling more positive today. I've measured myself, done some exercise and I'm just going to get on with my day. No more scales for me, at least for a few weeks!
