I did 5-2 months ago and have been maintaining quite a good weight easily for many months.then on Sunday I decided to go back to fasting to try lose the last kilo
The fast was easy and I lost a bit
But now two days later I have put on plus plus and I really didnt eat a lot.i am a pretty healthy small eater
It's like my body is saying if you are gonna starve me I will have to hold on to anything you eat
Should I fast today,or go babk to 16/8 which I really liked or just give this all up
I wouldn't give up so quickly. Weights from day to day vary a lot on this diet.

Congrats on maintains so long! That's an awesome accomplishment.
Hi Sarah,

Don't give up yet, I know with the run up to Christmas it might not seem like the right time to fast but this really is not an overnight solution, you need to stick at it for a bit longer, good luck

Well done for maintaining easily! I haven't found it easy, so kudos to you.

Don't let the scales rule you. If you eat less, then weight loss will happen, but not always when you expect it to. I've had times when I pigged out totally and then stepped on the scales in dread only to get the lovely surprise of a couple of pounds off. I enjoy the moment, but I know that really it was the long period of cutting down but not having it show on the scales which led to it.

I agree with the others: Give it a bit longer.
 Don't give up Sarah you've maintained very well and as you've done this WOL before you know how unpredictable it can be regarding the scales today they're not
your best friend.
Carry on doing the same then Santa may come early to you.
Be patient and enjoy :clover: Sue
Hi Sarah! I'm wondering how often you weigh yourself. I've only been on the 5:2 for just over a month and I used to weigh every day. Sometimes I'd be up, sometimes down. I got pretty fed up until my husband suggested only weighing once a week. As this diet is really only measurable in the fairly long term, his suggestion made sense (most unlike my husband to make sense!!). So now I weigh on Saturday mornings and though I appear to be only losing a pound or two each week, I'm a lot more motivated. And also I concentrate on the other benefits which for me seem enormous - I've got loads more energy, my irritable bowel has settled somewhat and I feel so proud of myself that I can go two days a week eating very little without too much effort.

So keep going. Maybe treat yourself to a nice bottle of perfume for Christmas to make you feel good about yourself. :-)
Hi Sarah.

Don't give up yet. I've been losing steadily for the first six weeks, then last week I was static which blew me out, but I'm feeling less bloated and actually enjoying my fast days for the (hopefully) health benefits.
