Hi there, so here I have bee since Dec 15th - 12 days. I am not losing weight, when I weigh myself I've usually gone up a few hundred grams!! Today I measured my waist, hips boobs again, I seem to have lost 1cm on my waist, 3cm on my chest, and 1 cm on my hips. However, my clothes don't feel looser and I never quite trust the measuring as I never seem to get the same spot twice. If anything I tried to get my jeans on, just washed and dried, and I didn't even pull them all the way up they were so tight, I thought I want to be comfortable. I know it's early days but i have had such high hopes, maybe it's the christmas food. The thing is I definitely feel like I am eating less, and I definitely get full quicker but why no kilos lost?

I understand just what you are feeling, I seem to remember I posted a very similar post some time ago, and everyone said it takes time for the body to adjust, and its so true!! but as you say its working already... its a slow progress this WOL, but it does work, it took me quite a few weeks to start loosing, so hang in there!!!
give it some more time, and your next post am sure, will be one of delight

It took me a month before I saw a loss and then it was a big drop at once. This cycle continues for me now. Make sure you stick within your TDEE on non fast days. I will not lose weight if I eat over my TDEE. I also have it set to sedentary even though I'm a daily exerciser. Don't lose heart, it will happen. Good luck
December is not the best time to start a diet. There is too much of a change in eating and drinking habits with parties and Christmas food. Where normally you can guage how much and the approximate calories of your normal food, Christmas foods and the extra drinking can throw it all out of the window.
Be gentle with yourself until you are back into your normal routine. Then when you are settled double check your calories on your non-fast days as well as fast days. It may seem like a bind but you still need to stay under your TDEE (go to your progress tracker and input your details to get your TDEE). But its only for a week or so, just to make sure you aren't going over. The general premis of this way of eating is that you can eat whatever you want, but, not as much as you want. So you can have the bread and butter, just not the whole loaf of bread and the full slab of butter.

Hi @debsie Well yes I'm going to say exactly what you was expecting Hang on in there because as @rawkaren has said some members take longer she should know that coz it did in her case
But everything comes to those who wait, and this WOL is worth the wait, carry on doing decent fasts and the tape measure + your jeans will catch up eventually.
I'm same as you regarding getting all differing numbers on the tape can't trust anyone else to do it for me but can't trust myself either Lol.

Hi and welcome:
It is a common misconception with virtually all diets that you lose weight right away and keep going down in a straight line until you reach your goal. We wish.
Here is a more common path - one that I followed. If you understand, you won't get discouraged: post71147.html#p71147
Good Luck!

... And 12 days is no time, especially at this time of year. All the advice above is good, but just to add, you won't lose if you stress over it, so give yourself time and try to relax. And there are no short cuts, so don't be tempted by the 'branded' foods mentioned on the other thread - that way madness lies!
Good luck - be patient and hang in there.

I have decided tomorrow I am going to start set days of Monday and Thursday which gives me room for a saturday fast if i stuff up. Not stressing and looking forward to it, weighing myself tomorrow but only because I've joined the valentines club then not gonna focus too much on it. thanks x
So I've only got time for a super quick update. Weighed myself today........down 1.8kg. woo hoo. So even though I am just in the early stages, and certainly no expert, I was just hoping that some other newbie who nothing was happening for might read this and say "yay, I am gonna keep going". It has definitely inspired me to keep going. So excited x
Well done
Great result debsie, will give you all the encouragement and incentive you need to carry on losing!
see! that's what we said would happen
.... There you go!!!
Congrats! And over probably the worst time of year to try and lose weight too!!
