Off plateau!
12 Aug 2013, 08:18
After 6 frustrating weeks, I finally seem to be off the plateau - lost a pound last week and two at this morning's weigh in. Very relieved and really hoping the downward trend continues.

I've been doing straight 5:2 since Feb. The only thing I changed on the plateau was having green smoothies on fast days (more for health reasons, to get more veg down me. Now down to one green smoothie plus dinner of around 250 cals) and trying, rather erratically, to up exercise levels (Fitbit really helps). Do I understand what's triggered the breakthrough? No! Am I happy? Yes!

Just want to say a huge thanks to others who posted when they broke through their plateaus - I may well have given up by now without the hope they gave me. :like:

So, as others have said before me, if you're still living in plateau-land, hang in there!

Thanks all, for sharing in my YAY!

SueQ, I was the same last week, wondering if the one pound loss was just a blip. Hope yours isn't! Hope mine isn't, come to that!

Waratah, my body's definitely appreciating the extra fibre from the green smoothies and I'm enjoying them, so I keep going. Longer term benefits remain to be seen but it's got to be doing me good, right?!

Went out with a friend for lunch to celebrate and ate (sushi) and drank (wine) not wisely but too well (I never normally drink alcohol at lunchtime, can't handle it, complete wuss). I may well have put all 3lbs back on but I am defiantly unrepentant (and mildly tipsy) - the whole point of this WOL is to have the occasional blow-out. Way-hey, I say to you! And woo-hoo!
