Ahhhhhhhhhh
Weight is going up, 1kg in last 2 weeks with fat up by 4%. But waist is down 1 cm. I switched from 5:2 which I was really struggling with (2 small kids to feed and chase after all day) to 16:8 which I find really easy, but it aint working - no wonder it was so easy!!!!

I eat evening meal with kids at 6pm, then don't eat again until lunch 12.30/1 next day - so a bit more like 17:7. I do have 1 or 2 cups of tea in the morning with milk and sugar, but if I don't I feel very queezy all morning!

I lost a good bit on my first 16:8 week. Then 2 weeks ago I had my daughters bday party and cake and fairycakes around the house for days - I nibbled a lot. I also had my period last week which is never great for losing.

I'm going to knuckle down for next 2 weeks and see if I can loose again on the 16:8 cos it suits my lifestyle so much better then 5:2.
Goals - more water, less sugar and refined carb rubbish & only 1 cup of tea in morning.

Good luck Schubelle. If any consolation I have decided not to get on the scales today and just do a fast day instead. I have done 16:8 all week as I have had eaten out all week working away from home. Cutting down in sugar really does work though so good luck with your plans to reduce.

Sounds like a good plan Scubelle. Have a read of @Carorees blog. Theres some good stuff in there about her journey with 16:8. Actually maybe you really haven't put on a kilo if you were hormonal and your waist reduced. Maybe just count the weigh in that is after your cycle finishes. Good luck . :clover:

If you can get one 24 hour fast I.e. 6/1 in the week and your 17/7 for 5 more days and one day of relaxing it might chivvy it up a bit.
I do Monday as 6/1 after a relaxed Sunday, the rest fall naturally into 17/7. Also it's better to keep within your TDEE too.
Can you switch the sugar to xylitol (natural from birch) and make the drink a black coffee? It will help.

Good plan so if you do stick to your plan you should get results
and better idea from Azureblue to try to fit 6:1 as a plus into your week then you'll be able to sit and eat with the family all week :heart:

Agree with Julianna. Might be a bit of retained fluid there . Also 6:1 and at least with your 16:8 days as suggested by azureblue might work. Then you can have at least 3 free days

There is an interesting thread I bumped up this afternoon about longer length of fast being the important factor in shedding the weight

My empathy doing fasting with your little ones, I well remember the extra food around so it's not easy

If you have milk and sugar in your tea in the morning, it's not 16:8 anymore.

Thank you all for your comments which I have weirdly not seen until now - not sure why I didnt get notification!!!. Micheal H I agree about the tea, but I really do feel horribly sick all morning if I dont do it and I will actually vomit when I have black or green tea - any other suggestions welcome though.

I have managed to up my water intake and regularly getting about 1.5 lts. Still havent manage to cut out tea in morning, but generally having less sugar and bad carbs.

I suspect the 'gain' is likely to be hormone related or water retention unless you've been managing to cram a huge amount of calories into your feeding window. See how it goes after another week and don't stress :)

I'm with you too scubelle. Since coming back from holiday, I've put on weight and am fasting today after failing to miserably yesterday. Thank goodmess for this forum eh :grin: We can do it :like: :clover:
