Ok well you can see how much weight I've lost (so far) I work out 6 days a week, insanity, it's killing me but I'm doing it. I've gone from a uk16 going on uk18, ok uk18 but I didnt want to admit it and am now a happier uk14. I'm getting there, I'm losing inches, I'm fit and can even fit my booty into a next uk12 jeans, you know the ones with plenty of stretch! I look ok..........or so I thought until yesterday when I had a conversation with a complete stranger whilst out on a shopping trip with Min.... It went like this...
Stranger.... Hi I'm sorry but I'm buying a cardi for my mum, she's about your size, can I ask what size are you?
Me (thinking - ok bit cheeky asking another woman her size) err I'm a 14
Stranger.....really, are you sure?
Me... Err yeah I'm a 14
Stranger...seriously, mmmm, only I was thinking this would be better
She hands me a cardi, it's a size 18
Me...blimey that's huge
Stranger...really , you think that's huge, are you sure, I think that would be a better fit for you!
Me....look I'm a 14, if your mums a 14 that's gonna be huge on her, it would be on me.
Stranger.... Really? I'm not convinced.......and off she trots!!!

You cheeky f£&@?!g b!5(h
To compensate for this off hand conversation I brought myself a size 14 jumper in mustard,it fits and it looks good !

P.s. if you are reading this and you're an 18, please don't think I'm saying you're huge, I just meant the jumper would now swamp me :)
I'm curious - was this a socially gauche young person or an older person with no social sense at all?
Ignore exchanges like that with the ill-informed - you know what you're doing, and you know you looking trimmer all the time.
Respect for the Insanity workouts - *yikes*. I think there's a class that's held at the same time as I have my strength-training session (tonight) and you can hear the cries and sense the exertion, even when they close the door.
Well, although I laughed, I was also apalled by this woman's rudeness. Well done you for not being rude back.

Ballerina x
She looked like a fifty something (although I wouldn't want to upset her if she was younger!!) who obviously felt that anyone over a size 10, should be wrapped up in a big kaftan type thingy!
And yes I can understand the cries of excertion during the class, I am often found weeping on the carpet after a workout! :(
Thanks for the laugh--but are you sure that wasn't my OH's ex-wife? She has no social graces at all!
You did make me laugh but I do feel for you. A number of years ago now my best friend at the time said to me that she could never go on holiday with her other friend as this friend was so much slimmer than her. Yes......we were sitting in a caravan at the time - me and my girls and her with her two children on holiday for a few days! Ooooo, that one hurt!
Good Lord aren't some people rude. Really her mum should have taught her some manners.
Made me laugh out loud though.
We are roughly the same size. Looking at your BMI. Just need to work on my thighs and bum to get down to a 12.
Well done for keeping your cool.
Ps I would like a kaftan
Gosh MM, some peep are breathtaking in their rudeness aren't they!
I've met a few folk like that and i think it's best to shrug off their remarks with a smile
After all, having no tact or diplomacy makes them very unpopular and friendless,so they are more to be pitied than anything.
And have you ever noticed, they are usually rather unattractive physically as well as personality wise?
Sooooo it could well be they are just a bit jealous of their prettier sisters? And it makes them unkind.
Just bear that in mind @Minsmum AND @wildmissus! XX
PS Minsmum! I just remembered..
When i was expecting DD,my big bust got even more voluptuous...
one day i was in Mothercare minding my own business, rubbing my back while i rooted thru the reduced price babygros, when a woman looked at me and said,oh look at your lovely bust..then she leaned towards me pityingly and said, they' ll go like deflated balloons when you've had your baby!
That was very rude @Minsmum, How very dare she?! (as my DD would say)
Well done for keeping your cool. :like:
Congratulations for you being so calm, I would have put her in her place.... I can't stand this kind of houlier than thou people who should take a look in the mirror before opening their mouth

When I was at my biggest an aunt of mine took me aside and told me "honey you should lose weight, blah blah blah". It was really inapropriate as it was at my sister's wedding and, well, that aunt was not a skinny thing herself.... So I told her that she should take a look at herself before she gives any lesson as she was pretty ugly on the outside and I thanked her. She had opened my eyes on how ugly she was on the inside as well and I cut all ties with her after that...
