Shopping in my own wardrobe!
27 Dec 2013, 00:48
This morning, I managed to not only fit into my skinny jeans but actually be able to wear them without looking like a stuffed sausage! It's been a goof 18 months since I even looked at them sideways, much less tried to wear them and I'm absolutely RAPT!

I suddenly seem to have a whole new wardrobe available to me - but wait, does that mean I can't take advantage of the sales and shop? :?:

Well done! I was shopping yesterday and saw some great tops to go with skinny jeans! I felt fill and bit frumpy so bought new bed linen instead.
Got a mixmaster yeh in sales and collected a lay-buy of new better fitting shirt and skirt.

Afraid all that is in the back of my closet are clothes which are too big. It would be nice to shop in your closet except 20 years and a few moves and most clothes have been moved on to others
Oooh, very nice gillymary!

And Wmr309 - I was convinced by my SIL to buy a lovely top to wear with skinny jeans a few weeks ago and I laughed because there was NO chance I'd wear my skinnies again. Felt very frumpy (especially next to her, since she's a twig). But here I am, feeling good.

Although I just met some old work friends for lunch and ate too much. The skinnies may have to go back into the closet!!

Thanks! I remember reading that post when I first started out and laughing! It's a good thing to shrink when you already have the clothes to fit into!
Congratulations on your achievement. The question I would ask with respect to shopping during the January sales is how much more weight do I have to lose?

If it is only a little then buying new clothes is definitely up there on the shopping list. If you have a lot to lose I would only buy something that I a)desperately need (as opposed to want) b)is a massive markdown so if I end up sending it off to an op shop in two months time you haven't lost too much on it or c)a size smaller than you currently are (only useful if you know approx how much weight you still have to lose and you know how your body will translate that to a dress size (which is always risky but has paid off many times as reported in this forum).
I keep coming downstairs and showing my hubs new outfits. He says is that new? and I say, no I bought it a while back but now I'm a stone lighter, I feel ok to wear it. Dresses and skirts are making a come back.
Fab new avatar there Carie! Looking good!!
 great feelings @MelbMandy.
to shop at the backof our wardrobes finding "old" new clothes.
No sale shopping for me because as I replaced everything in the summer because everything was hanging off me sometime next year I will be replacing all of these again, and as I said before I wasn't going to buy as much and then fill up the w/robe again, well its filling up far to much again because my sister's keep giving stuff to me
great I don't mind    Sue
