This is a few weeks late, as on the day I was on holiday, walking around the pool wearing a bikini WITHOUT a sarong on top!
BMI: 27 to 23.9
Weight lost: 1 stone 6 pounds!
Number of fasts: 55
Waist: 37" to 34"
And nobody has noticed yet...or at least if they have they haven't commented!
I've only just started to tell anyone (other than family) I'm doing 5:2, and even then only two people with whom I've previously discussed weight issues. Both were hostile towards it because their co-workers had been on it, and had been working below par on fast days, so I'm staying under the radar!
However, I'm thrilled. I started this mainly for health reasons, but love the weight loss!
Other things I love:
- bending over is much easier
- it's much easier to go up hills
- getting back into clothes
- realising that it is possible to go out of the house without eating first; it's quite liberating.
- looking at my progress tracker!
- double chin is almost gone
- liking what I see in the mirror
I'm 2 lb off my comfortable weight in my 20s, and 7lb off my very favourite, not often reached weight, and am on target to hit this by Christmas. I'm already looking at the websites to choose a new dress!
However, it is clear that 10st 12 lb at 25 does not look the same as 10st 12 lb at 48, I had more muscle then...
My apple stomach will always be with me, and while I'd really like to get below the 50% waist/height ratio, it may not happen, but I'm closer than I was, so that's got to be healthier.
If you are reading this as inspiration on a fast day, something I spent alot of time doing, keep going. It's slow, but you get there. I would NOT have been sarong-less six months ago! I got a Fitbit six weeks ago, and would definitely recommend it.
Moogie, thank you for setting up the forum. The information, encouragement and Progress Tracker have been great.
