Delighted or Disappointed?

Hi Everyone,

So, I weighed in today after Monday and Thursday fast days. I'm down to 188.6 pounds, loss of 1.6 pounds for a total loss since October 7th of 5.4 pounds in just 1 day over one month.

I had a little weight stall last week, but keeping my food day calories within my TDEE and my fast days at 500 calories, I'm seeing results again. Also drinking plenty of water all week. I can still fit in my white wine fix on food days.

When I first started, I could eat 2,000 calories on food days, but as I started losing my TDEE adjusted to about 1,700 calories. Now that I'm keeping closer to my TDEE, I'm seeing results again.

I use a free site called SparkPeople to track my calories. It's not so bad to do and as long as I'm seeing results it's worth it.

Thanks for all your support and encouragement and tips.

Anne

That's great - there's so much useful advice on this forum and really pleased it is working again for you. I think 5lbs lost in a month is very respectable :-)
That's good to hear Anne. I bet you feel a lot better now. Well done. I hope I can post a loss on Thursday.
Dee :)
Thank you everyone.

Lesson learned...stop weighing myself too often. Once a week as recommended.

Anne
Well done!
Kencc, wow I never realised daily weighing was better, can you give us a link to the scientific research on that?
Ah, found some research here http://www.ijbnpa.org/content/5/1/54 . it's obvious that what we're doing here whether we're weighing weekly or daily is great because any regular self-weighing is very helpful at weight loss and maintenance. Anecdotally, I know at my fattest I avoided the scales, and I know a very slim couple in their seventies who throughout their lives weighed themselves once a week. Something I'm going to urge my kids to do.
Thanks kencc, that was very interesting. Still not sure that I want to be obsessively weighing myself every day, I feel virtuous enough doing it once a week! I'll give it a go and see how I feel.
Okay then, back to daily weigh-ins it is. I actually feel that I have a better gage of what's going on with my body when I weigh- in daily.

Thanks KenCc

If you're interested, I've posted more information and my daily weigh-in charts here progress-f4/topic1718.html

Being completely allergic to the scales, this study has persuaded me to become a daily weigher. Thanks Ken
