The Grand Plan
17 Jan 2014, 12:07
I am really chuffed to say the least another 3lb 8oz gone  and only week 2! so that's 8lb all together one happy lady so far.

Actually I say one happy lady so far loosely, as the fast days have been harder this past week than the first. Particularly the 2nd one as I was like a bear with a sore head last night, my poor OH. But after today's results I am definitely spurred on to continue to the point of coming up with a little plan.

The Grand Plan :silly:
Now I know, or should I say suspect that the large amount of my weight loss is coupled with the January Dryathlon for cancer research. (I do/did like my evening glass or 3 of vino)

Part 1
So I am thinking that when the dryathlon is over that I will change to the 4:3 as this will help me not return to my bad habits. I plan (again I say this loosely) if all goes well to do this until I have shifted a goodly portion of my bulk and :crossed: can practice some good habits.

Part 2/3
Then once I think I have achieved this I will revert back to 5:2 until that imaginary maintenance time happens. Yes part 2/3 is short and sweet as this is along time away so not going to fly away with the dream fairies on that thought just yet lol

But hay for now I am just happy to have lost as much as I have in the first 2 weeks and am totally aware that this is going to be a long journey with many ups and downs

A massive well done Sarah.
Keep up the good work, and did you measure and input into the progress tracker, take a look at mine, it's visible to everyone.
I agree, 4.3 is a great way to cut down on many things alcohol included. It's amazing how much I lose when I'm not partaking in a glass of plonk or two.
:like:
Also having a plan out in the open is also a good incentive.

what a great boost that must be Sarah to have already lost 8lb , well done! You also seem to have a realistic plan to get to your target and maintenance so onwards and downwards!

I am also doing the Dryathlon. I think it may make a big difference. Every time I have played around with 5:2 before it is the wine that has knocked me off track.

Well done Sarah.

in the first 3 or 4 months of 4:3 i drank no differently on non fast days but then about October i started to stop even on non fast days and weekends. I think it made a difference and dont miss it at all. Still drink if i go out with friends or have friends only but only a glass at most.

I think wine is just a sugar load on your system. I guess the alcohol makes us feel good but it tends to knock me out and i just want to nap after.. so avoiding it has also helped my energy levels at night.

My local bottle shop wouldnt be happy if i spread the word around the neighbourhood.

That's a great start sarah293.
The grumpiness and headaches can be a sign of not enough caffeine or needing a touch of salt. We tend to forget that our bodies are used to the tea and coffee and that we can actually get withdrawal symptoms if we cut out too much too soon. Also with us all drinking much more, usually water, we pee more. With this excess pee'ing goes our salts and we become electrolyte unbalanced, which causes tiredness and accompanying grumpiness.

I love a grand plan!
I had a grand plan last year - and it worked.
I have a grand plan this year too! I'm also in for the Dryathlon, as I found we were too much in the comfort zone with a glass or two (and sliding into 3) of alcohol each evening.
I'm already feeling better for it.

You have done so well on yours so far. I wish you every success.
