Time to 'fess up!
28 Nov 2013, 11:17
I finally got back on the scales this morning and was delighted that I had had a small loss. My last recorded weigh in was in August. I know I weighed a couple of times after that but I didn't record my weight as I'd gained. Then I was ill which meant I didn't fast. Then there were a whole host of reasons not to fast not least my 50th birthday celebrations which lasted a month and involved lots of eating and drinking. All the while I was aware that my clothes were getting more snug and I'd dug out some of my old clothes as they were more comfortable.

I finally gave myself a kick in the pants 3 weeks and got back in the saddle. What a relief to take control again! It has taken a lot of courage to get back on the scales and I was expecting a gain so I am delighted. Even when I wasn't fasting I was regularly reading the forum and I think that really helped me get back to it. So a big thank you to all you inspirational 5:2-ers!

Well done Esta! Good confession and probably not necessary to take that penitent tone! You're in charge here. You can fast or not as it suits you. Congratulations on your half century and I'm glad you celebrated in style. Plenty of time now for fasting.

Well Done You for getting back on track! :like:
We all have had 'down' days / weeks and taking control again really helps. I'm currently fighting the same pounds going on and off, but at least I haven't gained all my old weight from when I first started 5:2. In the old days, under WW, I would have stopped and have gained the three stone that I have lost!
Keep going and keep the faith!

So true HJ. What I love about this WOE is that there is no diet to break. I am delighted that I did not undo everything I'd already done. I've got a long way to go but I am determined to get there. I previously would have thrown in the towel and my weight would have gone back to where I started and then a bit more. I love 5:2,

Well done Esta, and thanks for sharing!

I find there's nothing like a significant birthday to put you in 'restart' mode.

Great attitude, you'll get to your goal for sure. Good luck and welcome back.
