I did exactly the same a few days ago! And feel really positive.
Congratulations!!! Goodness knows what is in their prepackaged foods anyway.
Hi
I am another one who has done weight watchers for years, and was a leader for a year. I went back to helping at a meeting earlier this year although I wanted to follow 5:2 just thought being weighed every week would help keep me motivated. Saw people coming back to the meeting that had been there 3 years previously still doing the yo yo thing and getting so despondent. Have ditched my membership and told the leader I wont be helping after next week. Feel so less stressed doing 5:2 not constantly thinking about food and what points are in what, eating things that perhaps arent so healthy for me rather than food that is, for example avacodos , love them, good for me in moderation but wouldnt have eaten one on weight watchers because of the small amount for a lot of points. Now enjoy half on one on a feed day and no guilt feelings. I do believe that it is the less stress factor that contributes to success as well

Great to hear im not alone, My son said to me ' Mum you have been on a diet all my life' he is 38!!! Ive done weight watchers and slimming world for over 20 years and god knows how much money i have spent, and im still overweight, Went to town on Thurs and had a lovely lunch of miso soup and avacado sandwich ( just because iwanted it and no guilt and no counting etc,) FREEDOM xxxxx
Well done to all of you. I have cancelled my subscription to Slimmimg Magazine and stopped counting calories - for good! I love this WOE and can quite see how it will keep me slim forever - once I've reached my target weight.
Well done to everyone that has jumped off the slimming club bandwagon! I have never personally joined one but plenty of my friends have and still go after years of membership without losing any permanent, significant weight. I have seen first hand how depressed they get constantly having to count points or sins and getting worried about weigh-ins at meetings. I have never understood why they paid to be so stressed and guilt-ridden over food-it just seems sadistic!
OhmiGod!!! I remember WW! I was too young when I tried them. I felt that it was a very stupid concept but seeing how many people liked them I thought that perhaps it wasn't for the young. Their meals never reached Greece but, still, all that point counting... how could it work with all these different kinds of cooking and preparation? Anyway, I'll stop here because I don't want to sound mean...
I lost weight successfully with Weightwatchers before I had children but in recent years I haven't been able to stick to it for any length of time and recording everything just did my head in, and I only ever managed it for a week at a time before bingeing. They seem to just start everyone on 1200 calories now - that was fine when I was ten stone and just trying to lose half a stone, but a diet based around that when you're two and a half stone heavier and used to eating a lot more makes no sense at all. Plus the fact the meetings were less than useless.
Yes, the meetings made no sense to me either. But, again, I was very young so perhaps it was just that...
I did Weightwatchers about 5 years ago and lost 5 stone but as ever I did put a stone on.... I really don't understand the new WW plan I seemed to be eating a hell of a lot.... but loving this WOL it is so easy and is working
Plus I don't have to feel guilty about my Chinese tonight!!

I must say weight watchers and slimming world works, I lost 5.5 stone years ago and last year lost over 3stone, but you have to constantly track what you eat, for ever. I love cooking so don't buy ww meals etc. But it doesnt mean its a healthy way ie ( Low fat products laden with sweeteners ).Its all a marketing ploy and these organisations are making millions out of people like me.x so im going to change my life and make it longer x
Thanks anndav, I had been thinking about doing this for a while. I had some good success on WW but it felt like something I had to work too hard at to see losses.
So thanks for the inspiration, I just went and cancelled mine too!
Krisgoo, I had Chinese last night too, it is the first time ever that I have thrown the leftovers out..normally I would keep in the fridge to heat up for lunch!
That must be a sign of progress!

I did it a few years ago, lost 2.5 stone, used WW meals occasionally and got diagnosed with high blood pressure...possibly because of the higher salt content in these each meals. Never again. I'm probably on b/p medication for life but it has already started to reduce with THIS new way of life. Do it. Love it.
Gosh, that's quite a few of you that've given WW etc the elbow - good luck to you all - remember you're not alone, you've got this forum with all the support, commonsense and expertise from so many people on here you've got nothing to lose... only weight. Well done and wishing you all good luck
