I've been 5:2ing since the end of Feb but the last 3 weeks before this I've been a bit slack and did 6:1. I lost the first 7lbs really quickly at the start of the diet but obviously stalled on weight loss when doing 6:1 at around 13st 3lbs. Decided with the weather improvement to start running last Thursday and have done 5:2 properly this week and exercised 3 times.

Although I've cheated slightly in weighing myself directly after a fast day (I fast Tuesday and Thursday and weigh myself weekly on Saturday normally) I'm below 13st for the first time in 5+ years so I'm over the moon!

Really keen to push on now and get my BMI down to normal but with this regime it seems totally achievable! 11 lbs in 7 weeks is much better than I'd hoped for.

My aim is to get BMI down to around that level for Glastonbury at the end of June so I won't be quite as shattered as usual afterwards!

Congratulations! You must be feeling great. Isn't is strange how those 'whole stone' barriers are so important for us!

Well done to you for starting your running regime again. It will really help your weight loss and make you fitter for the rigours of Glastonbury! I was just having a conversation with my son who informed me that he would have to run 1 km to compensate for one Cadbury's Creme Egg. My response was that I would rather do without the egg - I am very exercise averse!

Let us know how you progress on your 5:2 WOE and good luck!

Thanks all, I definitely feel a lot better in myself which is giving me encouragement to carry on. This forum is great too, somehow it's easier knowing other people are doing the same thing and reading about their experiences.

So 2 weeks later and I've lost another 3lbs and lost my first stone so feeling really chuffed today. Have managed to keep up the running too (even this morning in the pouring rain!) and actually seem to be enjoying the challenge of exercise for the first time.

Next milestone 12st 7lbs, I'm hoping I can do it for my birthday in 3 weeks if I keep up the exercise.

Good point Stowgate Resident, I hadn't realised it was hidden! Incidentally ignore the intitial waist measurement it was just based on jeans size and not an actual measurement!

Congrats Whitestripe.
You could edit that waist measurement you know for an accurate picture.
