Broken the barrier!
12 Apr 2013, 13:41
Absolutely delighted this week to have smashed through the 10 stone barrier! The scales this morning said 9 stone 12 and I couldn't be happier :victory:

My little baby boy had his first birthday this week, and ever since he was born I've been hovering around the 11 stone mark, until discovering 5:2 in February! Even before the baby came along I've been up around 11 stone for a few years. I tried Slimming world 3 years ago for a couple of months, and never got below 10 stone 10 despite putting in quite a bit of effort every day! So this WOE has come as a complete revelation to me, so easy, yet so effective!

Thanks to all on this forum for the invaluable support!

I'm off to Westfield at the weekend to buy some lovely new clothes

Well done!!! You must feel great!!! I am in the same boat but have managed to creep up to about 11.7 so have a bit further to go...I am finding progress really slow mind you and thats tough, which is why I come on here, to get inspired by people like you! What is your goal? What is your advice? I have just tightened up what I eat on my non-fast days as I very much thought I could feast and I realise now thats not the way. So we'll see - perhaps in a few weeks I will at least have broken the 11 barrier!! Have fun shopping!

When I first started out on 5:2 I had a few different goals:

My 'Achievable' goal of 10stone 7
My 'I'd be really happy with' goal of 10 stone 4
My 'Haven't been that slim since I was 21' goal of just under 10 stone
and my 'Theres no WAY i'll ever lose that much weight' goal of 9 stone 7!

So I'm pretty ecstatic that the most optimistic target weight is still on the cards.

Things that I think have helped:
- Checking the forum multiple times a day on a fasting day
- My Husband being along for the ride too
- Telling friends and family about the diet, then they know not to offer me food on fasting days
- Rewarding myself with non-food treats, make-up and clothes every time i hit a mini-goal
- The hairy dieters cookbook for fasting day recipe inspiration

Good luck to all of you xx

Good Job IcePrincess! I bet next week will be the week you'll see the magic '10' on the scales!
