First weigh in and....
22 Apr 2013, 08:27
Hi,

Started my first fast last Monday, second on Thursday & have weighed myself this morning...EXACTLY THE SAME!

Took little one to school which is literally a stones throw, came back home & stepped on the scales again & it was 1lb less!

I honestly thought my first week would be a biggie, due to water loss etc but i'm a tad disheartened if i'm honest.
I didn't go crazy on my feast days but had the odd treat.

Any suggestions?

Not everyone has a big loss first week. A lot can depend on if you were trying other methods before you started 5:2. If you were already dieting then you don't have the early water losses that can give an impressive start. Don't get disheartened at this stage. Some people take longer to settle into it thats all.

Don't be disheartened. At my first weigh in I'd GAINED a pound. I've stuck with it and 12 weeks later I've lost 6lbs and an inch and a half off my waist. Of those 12 weeks there have been 4 when I haven't managed any fasts at all due to holidays and various other commitments. It's a slow road for me but I'm finding it so much easier than having to count calories or points every day of my life!

I'm about to buy a new pair of jeans in a smaller size and that's very exciting!!!

Good luck with your second week.

I didn't lose anything for 3 weeks either but have now lost 7lbs in 12 weeks. It's a slow process for some of us so don't get too disheartened. I found that I was actually eating too much until I found my TDEE was 1700 and not the 2000 which is the average for a woman, meaning that on my fast days I should have been eating around 420 calories a day and not 500.
Even now, I still count every calorie which is a bit of a bind but still, I prefer that I can have some treats on my feed days which were totally out of the question on previous programmes.
Hang on in there, and the weight will start to drop soon. Remember, it's much better to lose it slowly. Also, measure yourself - I actually gained half a pound on my last weigh but lost an inch off my waist!!

The tape never lies and the scales can send you round the bend! I always measure my waist (belly button area) Waist hips (Muffin area) Hips (Widest part of bottom) and thighs. you will find this helps on weeks when the scales are stuck!
