2nd week, am addicted.
29 Jan 2013, 23:00
Hi all. Did my 3rd fast yesterday (Monday). Lost 3 lbs in the first week, but more importantly, can feel my clothes are looser. And I don't know if I'm a bit strange, but I ENJOY the fast days. I save all 500 cals for the evening as late as I can, usually about 7pm. And during fasting I get a kind of 'buzz' - the same sort I get after a good walk.

Hoping this is my way of life from now on as I have a lot to lose but it took a long time to put it on, so I'm not going to obsess about weighing very often.

Good luck to all other newbies!

Well done on a great start! I quite enjoy the fast days too, which is not to say I don't feel hungry because I do. I feel some sort of power on fast days - a feeling of satisfaction for taking control.

Well done !! I'm on my second week too and know what you mean about enjoying the fast days. I think it is the feeling of being in control for me. I love to cook & 5:2 means I can do that on my feast days without having to weigh/measure/count checks etc. On my fast days I'm keeping it simple with preprepared salads/soups etc that I can see the calorie count on . I really see this way of life being sustainable and for the first time in ages I am motivated and know I'm going to get to the weight I want to be :D

I agree Sheilygee - It is brilliant to cook on feast days without having to weigh and measure and worry about calories etc. I too am keeping it simple on fast days. This way of eating is a revelation and I hope you are right about it being sustainable. However, I did have a blip last week (week 2 for me) because I had so many social things involving food going on that I could only fit in one fast day and I put some of my lost lbs back on. But I find I don't feel too bad about it and I have just got back into it again this week.

I eat packaged M&S meals on fast days for the same reason - know the calories and it's 'real' food. I only had a 350 cal meal on today's fast, but it was really filling. Ate the other 150 calories just in case I get hungry later.

Really enjoyed fasting again today. Was also very active and felt strangely good! Lets keep at it, ladies!
