This is my very first fast day and I did great this morning until I broke my fast about 10 a.m. Had a small salad with 3 very small slices of roast chicken and water, water and more water. Now I'm hungry and have a headache and it's only 3 p.m. in the afternoon. Will this headache eventually go away? Is it related to the fast? I've had a total of 270 calories, so I'm anxiously anticipating dinner!

I find it's so very much harder to fast if I eat breakfast or lunch. Hunger, for me, is much, much more difficult after I eat.
So I save up all of my calories for dinner. during the day, I have black coffee, water, seltzer with lemon and herbal tea. In my first few weeks, if I got very hungry, I would have a cup of hot chicken bouillon. I haven't done that in ages.
If I have a headache and I'm hungry, I'd take two tylenol and a big glass of water. If it's bad, I'd add a small cup of black coffee (well, espresso, since I have a nespresso machine at home).
Good luck and I hope you feel better soon!

Thanks, Tracie! I've got to remember the bouillon and maybe a cup of tea (can't do black coffee) for the caffeine hit. Going to refill my water jug now!
I found I had headaches on the first few fasts. It's something to do with the body being resistant to burning fat.
The best advice is keep going and take a painkiller if you need to. it DOES get easier and the headaches will be gone in a week or two as your body adapts.
Good luck!

Hope you're feeling a bit better, the day is almost over. I also find it easier to fast and have all my cals at dinner. If you need a caffeine hit, what about zero cal coke, it might knock the headache off. I try not have diet drinks but sometimes it's what a headache needs.
