Down in the Dumps
03 May 2013, 06:56
Hiya All

I got my self a nasty cold this week so didn't do my usual fasts of Monday and Wednesday and i've put on 3.5 lb's  What's it all about!

So in 11 weeks i've now lost a grand total of 3 lb's - this cant be so!
I've not over eaten this week as cant even taste my food - just NOT fasted!

So hard to lose but so easy to put all what I've lost back on :(

Trace, don't worry sweetie. 3.5 lbs would be an overeat of about 12000 calories, which I'm sure you've not had. You're probably just retaining some water. Don't fret, ignore the figure this week and see what the scales tell you when you're all better x

To add to what Moogie has said, TracE, there is always some weight 'bounce back' when you stop fasting - if you have been weighing yourself after your 2nd fast day in the week.

I've put on 2 lbs this week even though I did fast on Monday (now on 6:1), but I built this in to my target. I'm not expecting to put on 2 lbs next week though (fingers crossed!)

So don't worry, the apparent weight increase is just a one-off and when you get back to fasting it should come off again.

Thanks both for your replies - I do hope it can be adjusted next week as off on my turkish holiday following Monday!

Aw TracE. Just concentrate on getting better and look forward to your hols.

Must be a few bugs going around, my OH is full of it and driving me round the twist with all the sniffing.

Aww thanks Madge really appreciate it mate. Feels like i have so much weight to lose (3stone) and maybe some more and yet now according to the tracker (as today is my official weigh in day) it says i've lost 2.2 lb's since i started 11 weeks ago!

I'm not letting it make me thrown in the towel just some days feel less able to laugh it off than others.

Also my head plays tricks with me when i'm not having any success int that it keeps tempting me to sabotage my fast days even more...!

Soo wanted to be confident in my bikini week after next but alas think my sarong will be on more than off :(

TraceE sarongs are lovely! alluring and leaving people guessing about what's underneath! Just to add in what everyone else has said. Be kind to yourself- colds can make you feel miserable. Have you measured? Are any clothes looser? It seems that shape can change even without the weight really shifting.
Hope you feel better soon.

TracE the weight fluctuation is nuts. My weight on 29th April was back up to 12 st 10.5 which is only 3.5 lbs less than when I started! Five days later it is now back down to 12 st 7. I think my weight has been going a bit crazy over the past month because I've put in a few gym sessions and I've been holding on to water. I feel like it's going to come off now (still slowly of course!)
