Maybe his dresses were tighter and he can still wear them?

well done izzy and thanks to all for giving me a good giggle
Ah cammon! All women know that a husband/boyfriend is not the right person to ask.
I did laugh, and needed it, so thank you
My rule of clothes is that if I have to ask someone their opinion as to whether it looks good, I already know the answer!

Today the navy longline jacket and (almost) matching boot cut trousers arrived in the requested size 18. This is a good size as I had slid into 20's but am now heading gently downwards. Oh to be a 16 again and fit into that gorgeous suit I bought 12 years ago and wore 3 times. Ho hum. I have a special birthday present to use on the 21st you see, Chelsea Flower Show!!
Well the jacket is a lovely length, a bit baggy, perhaps a 16 would have been a better choice? Maybe better to err on the side of largish. The trousers fit well, though why do they have to be a dropped waist these days? Also, I had to order 34" leg, the next length up is 31" and too short, I need 32" you see. Next job is turn the hems up neatly.
Clothes are a nightmare now. The Bag Lady look is only because what is currently on offer is a bad joke, over-priced or poorly finished, nasty materials, cut to fit aliens from space. Bleugh!
Sorry. Rant over. As you were.

Azurblue, if you live in the UK, you aren't entitled to complain about clothes. Trust me, you're so lucky you can't even imagine how much!!! I haven't been to London for 2 years and I haven't shopped for clothes. I just can't do it elsewhere...
