am 2 months along with 5:2 fast diet and find I prefer, to my suprise, the structure of the Fast days. I have stalled at weight loss after a good start. I am doing exercise and tracking with MFP. The forum is very helpful since I found it around the time my weight loss has come to a standstill at + &- .5kg. I am not stressed but interested if anyone else prefers fast days now

Yes, I feel the same way you do! I don't even know what to buy at the grocery store other than my fasting foods! I want to eat healthy foods, but then part of me feels like I better live it up on the days I am allowed!
Today became a feed day as I was hungry from a 36 hour stint a couple of days ago but when I thought I had really feasted today I find my tally is not as much as I thought. Having known for years I have carried around too much weight and failed at many diets I find this a wonderful WOE and remain amazed how I look forward to fast days and not distressed at my current limbo
Fraid not. Still love food, but treat it very differently now. Happier when I can eat - but instead of having early lunch or a cake, I just had an apple! Feeling very smug about that
Me too Swedey, love to eat but becoming more restrained! Food now longer the reward, comfort, stress reliever that I used to let it be
I'm having the same problem on non-fast days. I can't relax, not even a little bit. I may have to try to go to 4:3. I find that as SOON as I start to eat "normally" - as in, still counting calories and looking for low sugar/low fat food - my efforts go to waste (Hah! waist!).
One glass of wine feels like defeat, one piece of garlic bread, one pudding is cheating.
I do feel that the book is rather blase in claiming that you are only fasting for two days so it is not a full-time diet. From the posts I have seen, everyone is having to scrutinise every bite of every meal and snack to get even a modest weight loss.

I have been doing 5:2 for 11 days now and done 4 fasts and it is weird but I like the fast days. I fasted yesterday had my tea about 5.30 pm last night n nothing else, got up and went for a 2 mile run at 7am , had 2 poached eggs n ham for breakfast chickpeas and rice for dinner with a yogurt. Carrot sticks around 3pm then just had a mushroom risotto from m and s and one of their quite small walnut whips and I feel so naughty !'
This diet definitely makes u look at your portion sizes and also makes you want to restrict your naughtiness I think .
I'm quite disappointed only lost 2 lb on scales but have lost 2.5 inches off my waist !
