Delighted or Disappointed?

5 posts Page 1 of 1
This week I lost 200gms. Disappointed - yes. Delighted - well I should be, as it's 9 consecutive weeks of loss with no gains. I did ADF this week, tho it was only 3 fasts (Mon/Wed/Fri) between weigh ins and there were 3 feed days (Fri/Sat/Sun) before I did this, so maybe it's more 4:3 in essence. However my mind had told me I would lose more weight, so I feel disappointed. It's not that I want to lose the weight quickly and go back to eating as I did, however I would like to get to goal weight so I can do 5:2 as maintenance or maybe 6:1. I have been 'going hard' - well that's what ADF feels like even tho the fast days are OK - I wouldn't say easy, but I manage to get thru without struggling. So even going hard is not producing much weight loss - tho yes it IS a loss.

Luckily I am not the sort of person who gets down about such things and I don't go off and eat a big bun  I am a problem solver by nature and so I shall contemplate what I need to do to speed this up a little. Interested in Wendy Darling's note that water fasts sped up her weight loss....tho the thought fills me with horror! I used to do loooong water fasts 20 years ago, but now I find that even going without breakfast on fast day is agaony. AND I am NOT one of the ones who feel fab on fast days - I am vague to say the least! I drive around in my work and find I'm headed in the wrong direction...constantly  I have to drag the wool off my brain all the time.

Here's to losing more
GMH.. I have gone through several weeks with only .2 or .4 lb lost.. it is quite disappointing. However I keep on going and have just had a +l lb loss... so I guess it still comes down to the 'long haul' and the overall picture. As people have said... better down -.2 then up +.2! Here's to losing more!!
thanks Beckygirl - very true. If it was 5:2 I would expect it, but doing ADF - a little disappointing - however tomorrow is another fast day and today I feed, so just enjoyed a beautiful bfst of bircher muesli (1/2 cup), raspberries & Greek Yoghurtc - yum
Keep going, I had a painfully slow start, actually for quite a few weeks there was no start at all then it started, then it stopped, then it started again and here I am below my target weight. You can do it, just ride the setbacks and keep focused on the end result,

Keep going and keep posting,

Ballerina x
Congratulations on sticking to 5:2 despite the slow weight loss. The end goal of a healthier you is what's important.
