I've been practicing this WOE since the middle of March and didn't have much to lose, but was really interested in fat loss and health benefits. I lost a couple of lbs. in the first couple of weeks and then wobbled back and forth with another couple of lbs. until this week. I've seen my clothing get looser before I saw lbs. lost and saw my shape toning up. So I stayed patient, sure that if I kept this up, I'd see weight loss or be satisfied with a trimmer figure. And lo and behold, that's what's occured!! Only 1.5 lbs. to go to my goal!

What lessons have I learned from this? 1) Don't expect a steady downward progression on the scale (I've weighed myself 1-2 times/week). 2) Don't get upset if my weight goes up and down a couple of lbs. or so. 3) Be patient since I don't have a lot to lose. 4) Notice looser clothing and general toning up. 5) Keep on keeping on because I WILL move in the direction I want to go.

I hope my lessons can speak to someone else's experience. It's the long game here that matters....

Hi Rubylucy, this sounds great! Congrats! Would you mind sharing your stats? Starting BMI and maybe how much you've lost since you started? I'm curious as to what your progression looked like. I don't have a lot to lose either and only started 2 weeks so curious how it will go for me. Thanks!

P.S. Gigi, how did you convert your hairdresser and what did you convert her to? I'd love to convert my hairdresser to a plumber, much more useful!

Ha ha ha-I'll check at my next cut/colour!

Ballerina, my husband is like yours, very scared of the H word.(hunger!)
It would be great if he'd lose some of the typical male fat around his middle, but I just have to hope that he'll eventually decide to do it.
We are leading by example!
Hi gigi55,

MEN? Huh, what can you do with them! They think they are so brave and macho yet can't go without a little bit of food, or in my husband's case a LOT of food! How can they be happy to see their six packs grow into party packs?   Strange creatures but we still love them,

Ballerina x
Hi badtzmaru5: I started at 137 lb. (but lost 3 lbs. quickly). I'm now hovering around 129, but definitely under 130. My goal is 128. My BMI started about 21...

When I get stabilized at 128, I'll shift to another version of fasting because I don't want to get thinner.

I feel so good about this approach because I can modify as needed to keep my weight where I want it, while getting the physical benefits that matter most to me.
Actually, more accurately, my BMI was 22 when I started. Now it's closer to 21....:)
