Hi everyone,
So happy today. I lost really well in the first 4 weeks (around 4 kgs) but then like so many I went up and down,up and down for 3-4 weeks, but i never lost hope because of all of you wonderful people out there. I listened to those of you who said things like "it's not a plateau" and 'measure your waist", and "Don't rely on the number on the scales too much as there are lot's of changes that won't show in a number on a scale" and most importantly "this is a WOL and a journey that takes time to reap the health benefits and weight loss as a wonderful side effect"(obviously all paraphrased)I lost 1.7kgs in the last week and I am so grateful to you all.
 julianna.
Usually fasting Tuesday and Thursday with Hubby depending on my week.
Started 8 weeks ago today and have released 5.6 kgs12.8 pounds.
:clover:
Well done for sticking with it julianna - I bet you feel great - and this will be good for everyone else in the same position to see too - everything is possible in this WoE if you keep at it long enough! :victory:  :victory:
Fantastic - Congratulations - great for us who have yet to reach that plateau to see your perseverance paid dividends.
Woo Hoo!
Congrats and thank you for paying it forward as i needed to hear thks myself. I lost for the first 3 weeks then stayed the same for 3 weeks and then last week I lost 1.6 lbs and then today was only down .4
That's wonderful Julianna! Good on you for persevering. :like:
Thank you Silverdarling, CMCE, Rhondar and AiriR. Bree, you and I have seemed to have the samepath as so many others. Seems to be a pattern emerging of 3-4 weeks of weight loss then 2-4 weeks of nothing (up and down) then more weight loss. 2 lbs in 2 weeks is really good Bree. Well done you. I suppose we just have to have faith that it is a downward trend over time.
I feel like I have been given a gift. I don't count calories on my Feed days at all. I went a bit crazy in the beginning but now have settled down to eating a bit less during weekday feed days and whatever I want to eat and drink friday to sunday nights. Thanks for all your responses. Off to Lithgow now to take my dad out to lunch.
Great job! Thanks for posting, I have been seeing a similar pattern in my weight, so good to know I'm not alone!
Very encouraging; thank you. I hope to get off the plateau one day. You are right. The forum allows us to have hope.
Congrats, Julianna! You have given me hope, too. I was very surprised at how much I lost in the first four weeks but have just hit a plateau. I remind myself its a long-term process...
Well done. That's famtastic news :)
Way to go, Julianna!
Hi I have just joined this forum after looking for some inspiration as to why my weight loss plateaued after 4 weeks. I lost 4kgs in 4 weeks i was on a roll and then at the next weigh in 0kg. I felt very dissappointed because I felt slimmer but this post has given me the kick to keep going. I must say that I do feel amazing on the day after a fast day, more energetic and well rested. I've got to focus on the health aspect as much as the weight loss. Thanks for the inspiration.
Welcome to the forums, Jenren! The plateau is really normal after 4 weeks. Don't lose heart!
looking at my progress tracker, I seem to lose well 2 weeks, then not much the next (even gained one week), followed by 2 good weeks, then another not so good. Just stick with it and relax is my advice, as hard as it is to follow sometimes.
