Four weeks of 5:2 and I have dropped another kg - total loss 3.8kg! I was so nervous about this week's weigh-in - after an initial drop of 2.8kg after the first week, I lost nothing for a couple of weeks and was very worried I'd be on the same path I was on when I did this late last year - a net loss of one pound over 3 months. But I kept faith and persevered, and I'm so happy it's working. There has been no real deprivation, just a couple of days of irritability and smelly breath at the beginning being the only real hardship. On my feed days I've been eating and drinking whatever I want and not worrying about it.
This time is different to last time in that I have been exercising every single day (including fast days) since starting (bar one when I had a nasty cold, but I made up for it the next day and the day after), but even that hasn't been a hardship - I have discovered "binge viewing" of TV series I hadn't seen with my subscriptions to Netflix and Love Film, and I get on the bicycle, turn the Ipad on, and off I go for 48 minutes. I'm watching "West Wing" now and loving it. I barely notice I'm working up a sweat. Better binge viewing than binge eating, eh? And the subscriptions cost less than a gym membership.
I still have at least a stone to go before I get to goal, but I now am completely confident I can do it. And if I can, anyone can!
