Delighted or Disappointed?

so i'm 5 weeks in and have lost 5.5lbs - which i think is pretty good :victory:

I've been spending the last couple of days hiking up my work trousers everytime i getup to walk about and feeling really good about myself

However...........this morning i popped on a pair that i have not worn for some time and they fitted! No more holding up my trousers i thought.....

Huge downside, as i'm sat here at my desk i feel fat and slightly uncomfortable

I have promised myself new clothes once i reach my goal weight, seems daft to buy "interim" clothes, but i really thought that by wearing clothes that fit me i would feel good

Maybe it does not help that i don't feel as though i've had a very good week - too much wine (drank on Monday round a friends which i would not normally do on a "school night") and although i'm looking forward to a girly night with a friend tomorrow, there will be wine and bread and pudding! Friday is normally a fast day for me..........maybe i'm getting too hung up :?:

Sorry for the long moan, think i'm just feeling a bit down today
Go to the mirror.
Take a good, long look of yourself.
Admire the results of your effort.
Stop feeling fat.
Because you're not. :-)
Don't feel bad feel free to moan all you want we've all had down days if it helps get you thru. Enjoy your night tomorrow that what 5:2 is all about working with real life.
Feeling good in clothes that fit will take time (as I finding out also)give yourself a break and know it will only get better.
When you get home, take them off, hang them up and try them again next week, and the following one. When you think they are comfortable enough to wear then start wearing them. In the meantime can you do a botch it job on your old trousers either taking them in or using some safety pins.

This is what I've been doing for the last few weeks - I've finally worn the trousers this week, but am motivated more by seeing the difference in how they fit than by wearing them the whole day (although that was nice once I was in them comfortably).

Well done on getting into them in the first place :)
hello lulabella
please be proud of your success and measure it on the positives!
You have got into breeks that didn't fit! WOW!
If clothing manufacturers don't make clothes that fit comfortably that's hardly you r fault is it!
Like ema_o says, you could go back to the bigger ones. I kept mine until I caught sight of myself and realised how unflattering they were all bunched up and held in place with a belt.
Or nip into Asda (is that where George is?) and get a cheapy interim pair- they are cheap and with the money you'll have save not buying rubbish food etc you can justify it
Go on- you're worth it!
oohh! asda - nice plan.... i actually want to nip in there to find the goodfellas pizzas, so i could drift across to the george section!!! ;)
Oh my, I soooooo love George!!! Do tell us what you bought...
You're probably so used to the feel of baggy pants that the shock of properly fitting pants combined with residual guilt from the weekend made you feel fat. You think? :?:
Yes the "tight" feeling i always assocaite with being too big and overweight, so now if clothes "fit" my brain says Whoa! putting on the pounds?! :starving:

Hopefully i'll be able to re-train my brain to not think like this moving foward
